Each time you visit a tavern and have a brawl, you'll "unlock" the tavern, which subsequently opens up the ability to play one of three tavern games. If you want to truly master Black Flag Resynced, you'll want to win a match of each type of tavern game to earn the "Grandmaster" trophy or achievement. Here's what you need to know.

All Tavern Games In Black Flag Resynced And How To Win Them

There are three types of tavern games: Checkers, Nine-Man Morris, and Fanorona. You only need to win one match of each type of tavern game to get the "Grandmaster" trophy or achievement, but you can play as many times as you'd like to bet (and hopefully win) more money.

Checkers

Checkers should be instantly familiar to most folks, as it's one of the most popular 1v1 games of all time. In this easy-to-understand game, you'll simply be moving strategically along diagonal spaces in an attempt to "jump" your opponents until you've taken all of their pieces.

An easy 1-star spot to play this game is Havana, the first major port city you'll visit in the Dry Tortuga region.

Nine-Man Morris

Nine-Man Morris is a grid-based game wherein you and the other player take turns placing a total of nine pieces each in an attempt to form three-in-a-row (known as a "mill"), granting one of you the option to remove one of your opponent's pieces.

An easy 1-star spot to play this game is at Salt Key Bank, located southwest of Nassau in the Dry Tortuga region.

Fanorona

Fonorona is played on a 9x5 board with intersecting lines, where the goal is to capture all of your opponents' pieces. To do so, you'll need to move along these lines in the proper order to maximize your effectiveness and try to wipe out as many pieces as possible in a single sequence.
