Ariana Grande came roaring back after the stroke of midnight on July 31 with her latest studio album, Petal.
But the 33-year-old singer and actress shocked some of her most devoted fans and early listeners with a sexually explicit lyric tucked away on her song Big Feelings.
Fans rushed to social media to share the ribald lyric, in which Grande sings about a 'p***y so sweet.'
Listeners were quick to make a connection to rumors that Grande had rekindled her romance with her one-time ex Ricky Alvarez.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Grande's representatives for comment but has yet to receive a response.
'Baby, what's your karma like? / 'Cause, boy, you must've earned me historically / Don't have to hold it in no more / I'll take it, babe (I'll take it, babe),' Grande sings on Big Feelings, which comes at the halfway point of Petal, according to Genius. 'Ooh, you could blame the moon or blame the tides / P***y so sweet, a tear fell from his eye / Don't have to lift a finger / Was it something I said?'

One fan reposted the eye-opening lyric on X and added, 'i know she be putting Ricky thru the mattress.'
Other fans turned to another Petal tune, Bad Thing (Bunny Hop), as they speculated that Grande could be writing about her ex.
Some fans singled out the song's chorus, in which the narrator refers to someone she has only recently started to notice.
'Have you been this fine the whole damn time? / This is a bad thing /This is a bad, bad thing,' Grande sings. 'Oh, baby, you're a real nightmare / And it's super unfair how much / This is a bad thing / This is a bad, bad thing.'
Grande makes it even clearer that the narrator is referring to a former love in the bridge.
'All of this time I've been waiting / You've really been such a good boy,' she sings, before adding later, 'Can you feel it in my body now? / Well, can you hear it in these sounds? / 'Cause it's too late to turn back now.'
Some fans even claimed that Grande and Alvarez's alleged relationship might have been going on even before the exes were linked in recent weeks.
Multiple posts thought the sexually charged lyrics didn't fit with Grande's relationship with ex-boyfriend – and Wicked costar – Ethan Slater, who had allegedly inspired some of the writing on her previous album, 2024's Eternal Sunshine.
Grande and Slater dated for three years before they were reported in June to have split several months earlier.
