Ariana Grande has been known to get playfully affectionate with her on-again boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, but she was captured turning up the heat in a most surprising way.
The singer, 33, celebrated the conclusion of her 41-show Eternal Sunshine tour by posting a black-and-white video montage - with one of the special moments showing her planting a passionate kiss on her former backup dancer, 35.
The footage featured Grande rehearsing ahead of her final show in London before she walked over to the edge of the stage where Alvarez was taking pictures of her, knelt down and gave him a lingering smooch.
Grande, who was spotted holding hands with her love in New York City on Thursday, eventually tore herself away and finished the number. 'Feels good,' she said breathily into the mic.
The video was her way of saying 'I love you' to her fans who followed her along for the trek, and to Alvarez, too, it would seem.
'[T]his experience has meant more to me than words can possibly say … "I love you" doesn't begin to cover it. thank you. from the bottom of my heart. yours always, Ariana,' she wrote in the caption.

Grande sparked speculation that she wants to settle down with the dancer-turned-photographer after altering the lyrics to her song thank u, next during the final concert on Tuesday.
Instead of the original line, 'Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,' she sang: 'Wrote some songs about Ricky / I'm tryna make him my last.'
Grande previously rejigged the words during her show at New York's Barclays Center in July, singing: 'Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.'
The couple, who initially dated from 2015 to 2016, rekindled their romance in July, just months after she split from Wicked co-star Ethan Slater following a three-year relationship.
Grande soft-launched the on-again romance on July 27 by sharing a clip of them clinking olives before officially going public with a tagged photo dump on August 12.
Grande's steamy visual comes a month after she quit her West End role in Sunday in the Park with George and revealed a planned hiatus amid 'ongoing public scrutiny' over her apparent weight loss.
A spokesperson for the star told People at the time: 'Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.'
A source later told the outlet that Grande will continue 'to support her brand work throughout the break.'

The star is also reportedly 'committed' to participating in promotional activities and press for her upcoming movie Focker-in-Law with Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner and Ben Stiller, due out November 25, despite her recently announced break from the public eye.
Grande released a music video for her song Petal in July, raising alarm bells as she appeared onscreen with her sternum in plain sight.
Shortly after announcing the break through her rep, the pop star personally insisted her hiatus from the spotlight was planned 'a long time ago,' telling fans at a subsequent show that 'boundaries need to be set.'
She clarified to fans that the upcoming pause in public appearances had been 'quietly' orchestrated 'a long time ago' before insisting that the decision was not made because 'negativity was ruining things for me.'
