The Shared Watch event in Arc Raiders is the first time Embark Studios has introduced anything solely PvE-focused to the extraction shooter, and while this isn't a fully-fledged project or map condition, it is an event that applies to every visit topside for the next couple of weeks. This means that while PvP isn't disabled, it is discouraged, because you won't earn any merits for engaging in it, and you'll need merits to complete the event.
Here are the full details on how the Shared Watch event works in Arc Raiders and all of the rewards you can earn.
Image: Embark Studios via PolygonThe Shared Watch event in Arc Raiders is enabled from Tuesday, Feb. 10 until Tuesday, Feb. 24 for every visit topside. This means that unlike map conditions, which work on a 24-hour schedule, you have no choice but to partake. While previous events have worked in the same way, such as Flickering Flames over the winter break, Shared Watch has a universally applied rule: engaging in PvP will not reward merits.
The only way to earn merits, which are used to progress through the event track and earn rewards, is by fighting Arc enemies. 100 XP is converted to one merit, earned through damaging, destroying, and assisting the destruction of Arc. So you can still PvP and loot, but if you want the rewards available here, you need to engage with the PvE enemies roaming every map.
