The next best thing after a season 2 release date
Image: Robert Clark/Apple TV/Everett CollectionWidow's Bay likely won't return for season 2 until late 2027 (or even early 2028), but in the meantime, Apple is offering up a fresh new way to experience the best horror-comedy of the year. While you wait to find out what will happen to Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys), Patricia (Kate O'Flynn), Wyck (Stephen Root), Rosemary (Dale Dickey) and the rest of the inhabitants of this cursed New England island town, a new Widow's Bay release will give you a fresh dose of showrunner Katie Dippold's hit show.
Polygon is thrilled to exclusively announce that Apple TV has partnered with pop-culture collectible company Mutant and Milan Records to release a physical recording of composer David Fleming's Emmy-winning Widow's Bay score. The release comes at three different tiers, ranging from a two-record vinyl box set loaded with extra goodies to a CD (remember those?) and pre-orders launch Friday, September 11 at 10am PT/12pm CT/1pm ET at MadeByMutant.com.
“We are thrilled to be releasing Widow’s Bay across three physical formats," Mutant co-founder Spencer Hickman told Polygon in a prepared statement. "Katie Dippold gifted us a living, breathing world that was meticulously mapped out, and David’s score is so beautiful and strange, making our job an absolute breeze. It was an incredible thrill to work on this project and to help bring the next Martha’s Vineyard to life for physical media fans. Working on projects like this gives us life.”
Read on for a breakdown of each of the three available versions of the Widow’s Bay soundtrack.
1 Collectors Vinyl Box Set ($100)
The full box set includes a pair of records pressed in "Sea Hag" blue and forest green vinyl (three sides contain the full soundtrack, the fourth is etched artwork). You'll also get liner notes written by Dippold and Fleming.
As an added bonus, the box set also includes everything you need to live your best Widow's Bay life. Specifically:
- Your Turn 20-page book with dust cover
- Run card game reproduction, featuring 25 cards
- 12-by-20-inch "Cannibalism in God’s House" newsprint reproduction
- "Sunset Cocktails" invitation
- Mayoral letterhead reproduction
- "Don’t Say We Didn’t Warren You" poster reproduction
That's right, they actually created a playable version of the fake, spooky card game from the show.
