In over three years at Collider, senior author Jake has now penned over 2500 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, news, and interview teams. Alongside interviewing stars such as Selin Hizli, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Harlan Coben, and Chelsea Peretti, Jake was lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix's Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to chat with four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham. Jake has also worked for other publications, including Agents of Fandom.
From movies such as director Joseph Kosinski's Academy Award-winning sports drama F1 and the Elizabeth Olsen-led fantasy rom-com Eternity, to acclaimed shows such as the feel-good favorite Ted Lasso and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan's new series Pluribus, Apple TV proudly offers something for everyone. However, of all their great shows, perhaps none have proven as successful and beloved as the mind-bending sci-fi series, Severance.
The most recent second season of Severance, which became one of the defining TV shows of 2025, earned great critical acclaim, including a near-perfect 94% score from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The consensus on the site reads, "Masterfully managing its two halves of adroit character study and surreal nightmare, Severance's long-awaited sophomore season makes cognitive dissonance a mind-melting pleasure." Viewership on Season 2 rose 200% from the first outing, officially becoming Apple TV's most-watched series of all time.
On the day of the second season finale, Apple TV renewed Severance for Season 3, with fans quietly desperate to see the return of Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette in their streaming rotation. As whispers of the third season continue, Severance has returned to its rightful place in the streaming charts. At the time of writing, the series is one of the ten most-streamed shows on Apple TV in the world.

'Severance' Season 3 Is Taking Shape
Image via Apple TVAlthough it has yet to enter production, it is expected that cameras will roll on Severance Season 3 this summer. The series will then hopefully debut its third outing sometime in 2027, although with an enormous budget in play, a larger gap between seasons is more likely. In an interview with Collider’s Perri Nemiroff, Severance star Adam Scott discussed how Season 3 feels different from filming Seasons 1 and 2:
"Well, the great thing about the show is that every time we’re starting a new season, this time Season 3, the characters, and not just mine, are in a vastly different place than they were at the beginning of the previous season. So we have to think about all the things from the last season that redefines them, both from the outside, from the audience’s perspective, but also how they define themselves. It’s always shifting and evolving. So, it’s starting everything from a brand-new place, which is exciting."
Severance is available to stream on Apple TV. Stay tuned to Collider for the latest streaming stories.
