Apple TV's returning thriller series unravels the secret of streaming success.

Many of Apple TV's best shows are sci-fi series, with some of the streamer's genre releases including Silo, Foundation, Severance, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and more. However, the streaming service has a wide array of shows of the most diverse genres, and Apple TV's thriller series have also managed to find success worldwide.

That has been the case for releases like Hijack, which recently returned for a new season, as well as shows like Black Bird, Presumed Innocent, Slow Horses, which is expected to return later this year with season 6, and more. One of those thriller series is The Last Thing He Told Me, which has returned for season 2 after almost three years.

According to FlixPatrol, The Last Thing He Told Me is currently the most-watched TV show on Apple TV worldwide. The mystery thriller series leaves behind hit shows like Shrinking, Pluribus, The Morning Show, Severance, Ted Lasso, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and more. The Last Thing He Told Me season 2 debuted on Apple TV on February 20 with a single episode.

At the time of writing, The Last Thing He Told Me is the most-watched TV show on Apple TV in 24 countries. Some of those include Colombia, Denmark, Mexico, Sweden, and many more. Worldwide, the mystery thriller series is trending in the top ten charts of 102 countries, which is an impressive feat. Among them is the United States.

After 3 Years, Apple TV's 7-Part Thriller Series Is The Perfect One-Night Binge Ahead Of 2026 Return

A major Apple TV thriller series is coming back soon, and ahead of its 2026 return, the star-studded show is perfect for a one-night binge.

After the debut of season 2, The Last Thing He Told Me is currently the 2nd most-watched TV show on Apple TV in the United States. The only other series on the streamer to beat the thriller nationwide is Shrinking, which stars Harrison Ford and Jason Segel and recently returned for season 3. The Last Thing He Told Me has an exciting cast.

The Apple TV thriller series follows the mysterious disappearance of Game of Thrones' Jaime Lannister star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's Owen Michaels, with his wife, Jennifer Garner's Hannah Hall, bonding with his daughter, Angourie Rice's Bailey Michaels, as they try to figure out what happened to him. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Last Thing He Told Me season 2 has a low 43% critics' score, based on seven reviews.

That number should fluctuate, with the audience score still not out, given there are fewer than 50 ratings so far. However, with The Last Thing He Told Me's global streaming success on Apple TV, audiences are clearly flocking to the returning thriller series. New season 2 episodes will be released weekly until the finale, episode 8. The Last Thing He Told Me season 3 is unconfirmed.
