Anna Nicole Smith's baby daddy SLAMS biopic and warns it will 'harm' their daughter Dannielynn

Anna Nicole Smith's biopic has received a blistering condemnation from Larry Birkhead, the father of her 19-year-old daughter Dannielynn.

Entitled Trust Me, I'm a Doctor, the upcoming film is based on a 2017 memoir by the late model's pain medication doctor Sandeep Kapoor.

After Smith suffered a fatal overdose at 39 in 2007, Kapoor was implicated in the wrongful death trial but was ultimately acquitted of all six counts against him.

Australian actress Abbie Cornish is headlining the movie in the role of Smith, with Harold & Kumar star Kal Penn in the role of the doctor.

Now Birkhead, 53, has furiously declared that he and Dannielynn 'absolutely object' to the movie, alleging that he had previously received assurances from Kapoor 'that his days of doing press and being in the spotlight were over.'

He claimed further to have 'filed a complaint with the California Medical Board over Dr Kapoor's participation in this movie,' via Entertainment Tonight. 

The Daily Mail has contacted Kapoor and the California Medical Board for comment.

'We’re not involved in this production, and we absolutely object to any of Anna Nicole’s, my life, my daughter’s life being used in a movie and being made characters out of by someone that was a doctor that supposedly - that people were supposed to trust,' Birkhead thundered in the new interview.

'I was promised by this doctor and his representatives that his days of doing press and being in the spotlight were over, but here we are,' he added.

'Fast forward almost 20 years later, and this doctor continues to make the rounds. I’ve warned them about the harm and the emotional distress that this puts on not just myself, but also and most importantly, Dannielynn, and how this could impact her.'

Regarding his complaint to the California Medical Board, he said: 'I'm just gonna let the process play itself out and see what they have to say about that.'

In a more diplomatic vein, he added that Cornish was 'probably a nice girl and a great actress but I don't think she quite embodied Anna Nicole.' 

Anna Nicole Smith rose to fame in the 1990s, becoming the face of Guess in 1992 and being named Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1993.

She turbo-charged her notoriety by marrying the geriatric billionaire J Howard Marshall in 1994 - 14 months before his death when he was 89 and she 26.

Over the next decade she remained a constant tabloid figure for her tempestuous personal life, which was buffeted by her addictions. 

Smith succumbed to an accidental overdose in 2007 when she was only 39, leaving behind her then five-month-old daughter Dannielynn.

The previous year, her son Daniel had died of an overdose at 20 while visiting Smith at the Bahamas hospital where she had just delivered Dannielynn.

After Smith's own demise, Kapoor's diaries were confiscated as evidence in the wrongful death trial, and multiple passages leaked out into the public square.

One of them involved the 2005 Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood, in which Smith was prominently featured in with Kapoor tagging along at her side.

Kapoor, who is gay himself, described the experience as 'mesmerizing, watching the crowd wave at us, Anna and me all buffed out on the car.'

They then attended an afterparty where he found himself 'making out with Anna, my patient, blurring the lines. I gave her Valium and Methodone. Can she ruin me?'

Upon her death, Kapoor found himself in court, along with Smith's boyfriend Howard K Stern and psychiatrist Dr Khristine Eroshevich.

Kapoor was brought up on charges including prescribing drugs to an addict, but although the other two defendants were convicted, he was acquitted. 

Directed by Thane Economou, the movie Trust Me, I'm a Doctor also stars Linda Hamilton as Kapoor's lawyer Ellyn Garofalo and will bow in theaters on October 17.

Larry Birkhead, a photographer, first met Smith in 2003, and when he took her pictures at a couple of events he felt a 'spark' between them, he told the Daily Mail.

They remained in contact for a few weeks, until 'I got a call from Anna and she said that she wanted me to move in with her in LA and be her personal photographer.'

Birkhead fondly recalled: 'Of course I said yes. When I first went there, I looked around her house and I asked her: "Where am I going to stay?" She laughed and responded: "In here with me," pointing to her bedroom.'

They carried on a two-and-a-half year romance that lasted until months into Smith's pregnancy with Dannielynn, when she suddenly decamped to the Bahamas.

The rupture came amid her roiling legal battle over the $30 million she insisted she had been promised by her late billionaire husband, the one who died at 89.

'They took her to the Bahamas because she was in a lawsuit for all that money, and they thought that I was going to try and take it from her, so they saw me as a threat and Anna believed it,' claimed Birkhead.

Smith, who listed her final boyfriend Howard K. Stern as Dannielynn's father on the birth certificate, left her entire estate to her daughter upon her death.

A string of men including Zsa Zsa Gabor's ninth husband Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt claimed to be Dannielynn's real father until a DNA test confirmed it was Birkhead.
