Anna Faris has hit back at her former Mom boss Chuck Lorre after he commented about her shock exit from the hit show in his new memoir, Sitcom.
Lorre, who created Mom as well as The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men, said that he was initially reluctant to hire Faris to front the CBS series and that he was eventually proven 'correct' when she quit in 2020 under 'mysterious circumstances'.
After his book hit shelves this week, Faris, 49, fired back at the sitcom king on Instagram.
'Yikes. Yes, I read a few things. I really didn't see that coming. Of course it hurts,' she began.
'Chuck gave me a job I loved, and for seven years I never took a day of it for granted. I'm proud of what we made together, and nothing changes how grateful I am for those people and those years,' she continued.
'I've been sober for a year and a half. I was on a show about recovery and then I lived it. Now I'm healthy, I'm working, and I'm happier than I've been in a long time.'

Faris issued a statement on Instagram and received support from many of her celebrity pals, including Justin Long and Jaime Pressly
She finished, 'If anyone reading this is where I was, I hope that's useful. It gets better. I'm proof.'
Faris received support from many of her Hollywood pals in the comments section, including from actor Justin Long.
'I loved doing those episodes with you. You really helped me navigate what was a very different medium for me with patience and so much humor,' Long wrote.
Actress Isla Fisher gushed, 'You are a comedy QUEEN', while former Mom star Jaime Pressly simply left a heart emoji.
Even former Mom director Jeff Greenstein weighed in, writing, 'Anna, as someone who directed a lot of the first two seasons of Mom, I could not disagree more with my former boss.'
He added, 'I loved working with you and was (and remain) awestruck by your talent. Don't let it get you down. Those who know, know.'
In Mom, Faris and actress Allison Janney played a dysfunctional mother/daughter duo who are trying to repair their relationship while remaining sober following years of addiction issues.
In his memoir, Lorre expressed his reluctance to hire Faris for the lead role, although he stopped short of specifying exactly why he thought she wouldn't be right for the project.
Lorre said that he was initially reluctant to hire Faris to front the CBS series and that he was eventually proven 'correct' when she quit in 2020 under 'mysterious circumstances'
'As the years went by, it became apparent that my initial reluctance to hire Anna was, in fact, correct,' Lorre said of the actress
'I wasn’t sure Anna would be appropriate for this kind of material,' he said.
'As the years went by, it became apparent that my initial reluctance to hire Anna was, in fact, correct,' he continued.
'After six years, she left the show for mysterious reasons that were not mysterious to anyone on the show.'
Faris starred on the show from 2013 until 2020, with Janney taking over as the lead for the eighth and final season.
The actress had very few roles following her Mom exit, but she returned to the spotlight earlier this year with roles in Scary Movie, Spa Weekend, and Primetime.
Her behavior on the red carpet during the Scary Movie premiere in June raised some eyebrows, with Faris seeming more animated than usual.
In August, she revealed on Chelsea Handler's Dear Chelsea podcast that she had stopped drinking alcohol and was taking hormones to help with her mood.
Faris raised eyebrows over a bizarre red carpet appearance back in June
'It turns out there's a correlation between drinking and depression for me for sure,' she explained.
'I finally got on hormones, the hormone patch,' she continued, adding that it has made a 'huge difference' for her.
Faris also explained that she had taken a 'step back' from drinking in order to 'not self-sabotage'.
It's unclear when exactly the star stopped drinking, as she did not elaborate any further.
The actress and her ex-husband Chris Pratt eloped in 2009 and welcomed their son in 2012. They separated in 2017 and finalized their divorce the following year.
Faris has been married to cinematographer Michael Barrett since 2021, after Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019.
