Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and More Lead AMA 2026 Nominations

These musicians are taking their new awards on a house tour.

After hitting the 2026 American Music Awards red carpet, celebrities took their seats inside the Queen Latifah-hosted ceremony, held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas May 25. (Check out all the stars on the red carpet here.)

Going into the night, Taylor Swift—the most-awarded artist in AMA history with 40 wins under her belt—led the pack with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for The Life of a Showgirl, plus Song of the Year and Best Music Video for "The Fate of Ophelia," as well as Song of the Summer for "Elizabeth Taylor."

Following closely behind Swift with seven nominations each? Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, sombr and Morgan Wallen—with Carpenter and Wallen competing for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for Man’s Best Friend and I’m The Problem, respectively.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga picked up six nominations—including Artist of the Year—tying with Alex Warren for the third most nominations at this year’s award show.

During the ceremony, Karol G will receive the International Artist Award of Excellence, Darius Rucker will be honored with the Veterans Voice Award and Billy Idol will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

And leading the charge for the night—which will also include performances from Teyana Taylor, Keith Urban, Twenty One Pilots and more—is host Queen Latifah, who first emceed the AMAs in 1995.

"I am so excited to return to the American Music Awards stage to host this year," the 56-year-old shared in an April press release. "It’s been an incredible year for music and there is no better place to celebrate than in Vegas."

The “U.N.I.T.Y” singer also raved about her hosting gig on Instagram, writing, “I’ve had so many amazing memories on the @AMAs, so it’s an honor to return and host this year’s show.”
