Amazon MGM Studios head of global television Peter Friedlander, Sony Pictures Television president Katherine Pope, A24 partner and global head of television Ravi Nandan, the North Road Company’s president of television Amy Israel, CNN Worldwide EVP Amy Entelis and New York Times managing editor Carolyn Ryan have been added to the board of directors of the Peabody Awards
Friedlander, Pope, Nandan and Israel will serve on the West Coast board of directors, while Entelis and Ryan will serve on the East Coast board, the Peabody organization said Tuesday. The open terms begin immediately with the awards group, which annually honors storytelling that reflects the social issues and emerging voices of the day.
This year’s 86th Peabody Awards nominations and winners will be revealed in April, with a ceremony honoring them set for May 31 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
“When it comes to maintaining the integrity of an institution like the Peabody Awards, while at the same time evolving with the changing landscape that is television, podcasts, radio and interactive content, it is the strength and commitment of your board of directors that makes those goals possible,” said Jeffrey Jones, executive director of The Peabody Awards. “We are so excited to have Peter, Katherine, Ravi, and both Amy Israel and Amy Entelis, joining our already formidable board, who all share Peabody’s commitment to honoring outstanding and transformative storytelling.”
