She celebrated her 40th birthday in December and Amanda Seyfried is making sure to embrace this next chapter to the fullest.

The actress is in a busy period of her career with her films The Housemaid and The Testament of Ann Lee being released within days of each other and the latter earning her a Golden Globes nomination.

And now in the latest cover story with PORTER, Amanda reflected on the milestone birthday as she confessed: 'I'm embracing myself in this new decade in a way that I wondered if I'd be able to when I was a little younger.

'I kind of value myself a little differently in that, wow, I got here and I'm doing OK.'

Despite being busy getting her teeth stuck into new roles with gritty storylines, Amanda is no longer feeling the pressures of the entertainment industry.

'I don't feel like I have anything to prove to Hollywood anymore, to my peers or the industry, but I feel like, if I did, I'd be really quite happy.'

Amanda Seyfried has said she 'values herself differently' now she's 40 and insists she has 'nothing to prove to Hollywood' as she poses for a striking new shoot with PORTER

Posing in her latest shoot, Amanda put on a very leggy display as she wore a simple red dress with a high slit

Starring alongside Sydney Sweeney in the film adaptation of Freida McFadden's bestselling thriller The Housemaid, Amanda plays Nina Winchester, a wealthy married woman who becomes increasingly unhinged as the film goes on.

Speaking about the role she explained it allowed her to push boundaries like she never has before.

'I got to explore my rage in a way that I've never gotten to do. I owe it so much.'

Lunging forward in the snap, the star revealed her purple and orange striped high leg underwear for the shot.

Meanwhile for another shot she wowed in a glamorous leopard print coat with brown fur collar which she wore over a vest top and pale pink skirt with fluffy edging.

Amanda's career may be full of glitz and glam, but the star has chosen to raise her children away from the showy California lifestyle.

The star and her husband Thomas Sadoski and children Nina, eight, and Thomas, five, live in the upstate New York hamlet of Stone Ridge surrounded with animals including their beloved dog Finn, a goat, pig, four chickens, a rooster and two rescued cats.

'It's way less Hollywood noise,' she told PORTER, 'My children know that I'm a recognized person in the world, that I'm an actor and that me being on TV is very normal for them.

'And they also know that they're safe at home and they have their own privacy – and that's everything.'

Speaking about how her daughter reacts to her fame she said: 'I think she's more curious about it.

'She does have an eagle eye, so if we're in a room full of people, she'll notice when people are taking pictures of me.

'It's not that she's uncomfortable, she's just a little bit protective of me in that way.'

Last month Amanda insisted that winning an Oscar 'isn't important' as she declared 'do you know who won in the last 10 years?' after being 'robbed' of the Golden Globe.

The Mamma Mia star received a best supporting actress nomination at the Academy Awards in 2021 for her role in Mank.

She also scored nods at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards this year for The Testament of Ann Lee.

But Amanda has now insisted she doesn't need the accolade to sustain a successful career.

Speaking to The New Yorker, Amanda said it's actually the Oscar nomination that 'thrusts you forward' as she asked: 'Do you remember who won in the past ten years?'

She added: 'Now, do I need one in a week or two or whenever? No, of course, I don't. Would it be great? Of course it would, for every reason - but it isn't necessary.'
