Amanda Holden was left in tears live on Wednesday's Heart show after hearing emotional messages sent in for their guest Harry who has been battling cancer.

Radio presenter Amanda 53, couldn't hold back as she and co-host Jason King played clips from Harry's friends and family

Amanda and JK had spoken about the young lad during yesterday's show and explained that a tumour was found in the back of his brain that year.

Harry, nine, has been fighting cancer for a year and has had chemotherapy after it spread down his spinal cord.

During Wednesday's show, Amanda and JK played messages of support from his friends and teachers.

He was dubbed an 'absolute star' by one teacher before a friend said: 'I was just shocked to hear the news, and just... why does it have to happen to him?

Co-host Jason King also broke down as Harry was dubbed an 'absolute star' by one teacher before a friend said: 'I was just shocked to hear the news, and just... why does it have to happen to him?

'Brain tumours don't happen that often, but they have to happen to him. Harry, I can't wait to play with you soon.'

Amanda, JK, Harry and his mum were left crying after hearing the sweet messages of support.

Amanda said: 'Oh wow, we are all crying here, every single person in the studio. What an incredible bunch of friends and teachers you have, what a lucky boy.'

JK added: 'It is so nice to see your response to that when all your friends were saying 'Hi' and you smiled.

'And [I'm] also a bit emotional because you love them so much and they love you, they really do.'

Amanda and JK were no doubt reflecting on their own experiences with cancer, after her their co-host Jamie Theakston was diagnosed with stage 1 throat cancer earlier this year.

JK is filling in for Jamie during his treatment, and he previously sent a defiant message to fans.

Jamie shared this post on social media at the time

The Heart Radio presenter, 53, took to Instagram to share his health update with fans on Tuesday after previously revealing he booked an appointment with doctors after listeners had noticed there was something not quite right with his voice.

Laryngeal cancer is a type of cancer that affects the larynx (voice box).

Jamie said: 'Hi folks, as you know - I recently had an operation to remove a lesion from my vocal chords.

'The biopsy has identified this as Stage 1 Laryngeal cancer. So I have cancer but cancer doesn't have me!

'The prognosis is very positive and I'm hoping to be back with you in October.

'Until then, I've been told to give my voice a rest and leave you in the mostly capable hands of JK and Amanda.

'Huge thanks to them and all the Global family who have been unbelievably supportive.

'Be thankful for this day, and when I see you next, I'll have a great story to tell.'
