In October 2023, it was revealed that the title had been changed to Alto Knights.

Four actors have been cast in Alto Knights so far with Robert De Niro having a double lead role as both Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, which was announced along with the movie. Debra Messing was announced to play Bobbie Costello, Frank's wife, in October 2022 (via Deadline). Kathrine Narducci was cast as Anna Genovese, Vito's wife, in October 2022, a few days after Messing was announced (via Deadline). Alto Knights Will Tell The Story Of Vito Genovese and Frank Costello
Alto Knights is a biographical drama based on the real-life mob war between Italian American crime bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello during the 20th century. When Genovese orders a hit on Costello, Costello survives but is badly wounded and decides that it's time for him to retire from the mafia. There will undoubtedly be much more to the story than that and Costello's exit from the mafia will likely not be as easy a transition as he hopes, with the various scheming family members waiting for their chance to strike.
