Charli xcx has created an entire soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s take on Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.
The “Girl, so confusing” singer performed eight songs, penned by Charlotte Aitchson, Finn Keane and Nathan Klein and Joe Keery among others, to play in the background of Cathy (Margot Robbie) and Heathcliff’s (Jacob Elordi) twisted love story.
Fresh off her mockumentary The Moment which investigates how her Brat album took the world by storm in the summer of 2024, the musician leaned into romance and synths this time around. According to star Jacob Elordi, Emerald Fennell made playlists to help the actors get into character, and Elordi also listened to Elvis Costello’s “I Want You” which was sent to him by his costar Alison Oliver to get into character as Heathcliff.
