Alix Earle reveals emotional run-in with ex Braxton Berrios months after split

Alix Earle on Monday said that things got emotionally heavy during a recent unplanned run-in with her ex-boyfriend Braxton Berrios.

The 25-year-old influencer, who parted ways with the 30-year-old NFL wide receiver in December after more than two years of dating, explained the sequence of events as she cleaned her face in a TikTok clip.

The Monmouth County, New Jersey native said her eyes had been 'a tad bit puffy' due to tears she shed following the encounter with her one-time love.

The Dancing With the Stars alum said she and Berrios, who has played for the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans in his seven-year career, remain 'on good terms.

'It was normal and fine, and we were joking around with each other,' Earle said of the chance meeting.

Earle - who has been linked to NFL icon Tom Brady as of late - explained how a solo picture led her to reflect on the concluded romance.

'Someone that we both are friends with was taking photos of us together,' Earle said, 'and then it was like, "Oh Alix, get a solo shot."

'That's when I pushed him out of the way. It was funny and fun, and then it wasn't.'

Earle said that for the rest of the evening, she was 'looking around the place' with an eye out for Berrios amid a cavalcade of emotions following the reunion.

'I think that really sucked,' she said.

Earle added of the brief reunion, 'It's hard when you see someone for a second and it's fun and normal, but that's just a dose of it - that's done. That started to hit me.' 

She said that she began crying as she dwelled on the end of the relationship with the professional athlete.

'Sometimes you just can't help it,' Earle said. 'Sometimes you're just a girl, and sometimes water just falls out of your eyes.

'And sometimes that happens, and that's okay - so I did the responsible thing and called myself a car home and cried to my dog, but I'm fine.'

The exes were pictured chatting April 30 in Miami at Thomas Keller's Surf Club at a party preceding the 2026 Miami Grand Prix.

An attendee told the Daily Mail that neither Earle and Berrios brought dates to the event, which was also attended by stars such as Kevin Hart and Shaun White.

They 'gave each other a big hug when they saw each other and spoke for about five minutes,' the attendee said. 'The chat was very friendly and both had big smiles on their faces.'

Earle spoke about the meeting in a clip she posted to her TikTok, on which she has 8.5 million followers.

She said that upon arrival, she was told that her former boyfriend was also on hand.

'I didn't want to be awkward, lingering around, so I just ripped the Band-Aid off and was like, "I'm gonna go up and say hi." I only had, like, two sips of a drink, so this was good for me.'

In a clip she posted to TikTok last December shortly after the split, Earle explained the complicated dynamics of how she viewed their relationship.

'I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him,' Earle said. 'And he wasn't really expecting that of me. I think it was more of a me thing, but I constantly felt guilty.'

She made clear she had fond feelings for her former beau in the difficult aftermath of their split.

'I love Braxton: He's my best friend, you know?' Earle said. 'So it's been really difficult as we're trying to go forward with this.

'It just kinda feels like we're on two different paths right now and it suck - we're on good terms and I don't want anyone to come for him or to be mean to him.'
