Alison Hammond was rushed out of the This Morning studio during Friday's show after falling ill live on air.

The presenter fell ill an hour into the episode when she and co-presenter Dermot O'Leary were talking to show vet Dr Scott Miller.

As the camera was on Dr Scott, Alison was seen on the edge of frame suddenly clutching her chest before she was hurried away from the sofa by Dermot.

Dr Scott looked worried as he attempted to carry on the segment whilst a loud retch was heard in the background.

The show then cut to an ad break before returning with Dermot standing solo on set as he told viewers that his co-host had to 'duck out.'

'Welcome back to This Morning Ali is feeling just a little unwell so she's just had to duck out,' the concerned-looking star told viewers 'Hopefully she'll be back in a sec.'

He later told viewers that his co-star would not be returning, saying: 'Ali's feeling a little unwell so I'll be here for the rest of the show.'

Viewers voiced their concern for the star online, with one writing on X: 'What on earth has happened with Alison? Hope she's okay.'

Another asked: 'What just happened to alison hammond? Frightening.'

'I am very worried about Alison, i hope she is ok, she's a great presenter,' added another.

ITV have been contacted by Daily Mail for comment.

Alison has had a busy schedule over the past few weeks, juggling This Morning with promoting the return of her Channel 4 show Great British Bake Off.

The popular presenter is reprising her role as presenter on GBBO alongside Noel Fielding and new judge Nigella Lawson.

The star has been open about her healthy lifestyle, regularly sharing videos of her exercise regime and her diet changes.

At her heaviest, the This Morning presenter weighed 30 stone before a pre-diabetes health warning pushed her to overhaul her health.

Alison began her transformation five years ago when she started working with a personal trainer to regain her fitness and began a stricter diet.

Since then, the TV personality has also taken up Reformer Pilates and boxing, sharing videos of herself exercising online.

Speaking to the Radio Times about her improved regime, she said: 'I've had a personal trainer for five years, even when I was at my biggest. But I had a childish mentality with regards to food, especially toffees – but now I'll only have a couple a day.

'We're not getting any younger, are we, babes? You realise at some point you've got to look after yourself. I've got a speaker under my pillow to play relaxing music, and a sleep tracker.'

Alison's health kick started after she discovered she was pre-diabetic, the point where your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be diabetic.

Previously speaking to Women's Health, she said: 'My mum had Type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out that I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening. I thought 'I have to be an adult about this'. The sweets had to stop, and the fatty foods.'

As she works to maintain her figure after making lifestyle changes, Alison gave an insight into the measures she has taken including taking up Reformer Pilates because she is as 'stiff as a board'.

She added: 'You feel absolutely incredible after it. I really need a good stretch - so Reformer Pilates has been brilliant for me.

'I also do this early-morning circuit class from the brilliant Steve Hensel at Blue Zone. I'll go at 6.30am and do a full hour, it's a proper old-school gym.'

Alison said that she leaves the gym feeling 'amazing' after working hard, but while she is keen to try things, there is one wellness practice she won't adopt.

She told Closer Magazine: 'I did try one of those cold plunge pools once - and absolutely not! It lasted about a minute. I was like, 'Why am I literally trying to kill myself?''
