Aimee Lou Wood stuns in a low-cut cami dress as she shares a sweet hug with co-star Johnny Flynn at The Idiots premiere

Aimee Lou Wood embraced her co-star Johnny Flynn as they arrived at the premiere for their new film, The Idiots, at the BFI's London film festival on Wednesday.

The actress, 32, looked seriously chic for the occasion in a two-tone De La Vali cami dress, which featured butter yellow lace and a pale grey chiffon.

Aimee Lou, who recently debuted an elegant bob, wore her new style loose and opted to finish her look with a pink pallet of make-up and a simple chain necklace.

The Daddy Issue's star cosied up to Johnny, 43, who looked dapper in a relaxed black suit, which he wore with a white shirt and loafers.

The Idiots is a historical drama about the Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky and, more importantly, the remarkable woman behind his success.

The film is directed by Polish film-maker Małgorzata Szumowska and will also show at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The story centres on Anna Dostoevskaya, played by Aimee Lou, and her husband, the celebrated novelist, played by Johnny.

Newly married, the couple travel around Europe, but their life together becomes increasingly difficult because of Dostoevsky's compulsive gambling, financial debts and consuming literary ambitions.

Aimee Lou and Johnny have been praised for their chemistry and their willingness to embrace the characters' eccentricities.

The Sex Education star unveiled her new bob hairstyle as she got to work filming the final series of Daddy Issues in Stockport last week.

Aimee Lou, who chopped her long locks off last month, braved the autumn weather in a blue checked miniskirt and a yellow T-shirt.

Aimee, who portrays character Gemma in the series, was spotted putting on an animated display as she checked her phone while pushing a pram full of food shopping.

She was joined by co-star Taj Atwal, who portrays Cherry, as they filmed scenes in a park together.

The comedy follows Gemma whose life turns upside down after a vacation encounter leaves her pregnant. She must simultaneously handle her pregnancy and help her sad dad Malcolm following his marriage's collapse.

In the upcoming series, it is reported that 18 months after welcoming daughter Sadie she settles into nursery while Gemma receives a promotion at the salon.

The calm is short-lived though when a new romantic encounter brings a fresh wave of chaotic problems, forcing Gemma to turn once again to her hapless dad (David Morrissey).

It comes after fans called for Aimee to be cast as the next Doctor Who, after she starred in a Saturday Night Live UK sketch lampooning the sci-fi series earlier this year.

The actress won rave reviews for her hosting debut on the most recent episode of the sketch show, which saw her feature in a variety of hilarious skits.

But as well as praising her comedic talents, fans also took the opportunity to endorse the White Lotus star as the prospective new Doctor, after her appearance in a parody sketch of the BBC show.

Aimee featured as one of the Doctor's companions in the sketch, while SNL UK star Hammed Animashaun took on the role of the Time Lord, as the pair exited the Tardis to come face to face with an alien.

And viewers couldn't help but suggest that she would make an incredible Doctor or companion on the real series, which currently has no actors attached to the main roles.

They took to X to beg: 'AIMEE LOU WOOD AS THE DOCTOR MAKE IT HAPPEN PLS'; 'Aimee Lou Wood as the Doctor or a companion feels right'; 'She would be a great Doctor!';

'Seeing tons of 'Make Aimee Lou Wood Doctor Who' truthers on the timeline tonight after SNL which is fantasticcccc'; 'She would actually be a fabulous choice!';

'I see a lot of ppl say Aimee Lou Wood would make a great doctor who companion Nah man THATS THE DOCTOR'; 'Wait but Aimee Lou Wood would actually be a stellar companion for Doctor Who';
