AI Filmmaking Tools Company Flawless Names Amit Kapur Co-CEO

Flawless, a company that sells “assistive AI” tools to the film industry to enhance human performers’ work, has named Amit Kapur co-CEO.

Kapur, a longtime tech entrepreneur and exec, has served as a board member of Flawless since 2024 and before that served as an adviser. He becomes co-CEO of Flawless alongside co-founder and filmmaker Scott Mann. Nick Lynes, Flawless’ other co-founder who previously was co-CEO, will now serve as chairman.

Founded in 2019, Flawless’ tools have since been endorsed by industry labor groups including SAG-AFTRA and used on hundreds of productions for major Hollywood studios. In 2025, Flawless powered the first ever theatrical release of a visually translated film, Sweden’s “Watch the Skies,” for American audiences without the need for subtitles. Other upcoming visually translated releases include Venice Film Festival award-winner “Tatami,” Berlinale opener “The Light” and South Korea’s “Smugglers.” Flawless recently partnered with Avid, integrating its AI tools directly into the software, as well as localization companies Deluxe and Pixelogic.

Kapur began his career working in business development and strategy at Universal Pictures. He joined MySpace in 2005, working his way up to COO and helping transform the platform from a startup into a profitable global business. In 2009, Kapur co-founded Gravity, a trailblazing AI personalization company, which AOL acquired for $100 million in 2014. Following the acquisition, Kapur became president of AOL’s Publisher Platform.

Kapur serves as a board member, investor and adviser to several technology startups and was most recently an executive in residence at venture-capital firm Redpoint Ventures. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.

Lynes said he “spent a long time searching for a world-class operator to help us scale Flawless” before recruiting Kapur for the role. “And unsurprisingly, a personal recommendation is where we finally succeeded. Scott and I needed someone on the same ethereal and operational plane, and we found that and more in Amit,” Lynes said. “He rightly wanted to advise first before taking the co-CEO role, and over the last two years he’s become more convinced than ever. Amit is now a close personal friend and a vital third leg to our leadership, having repeatedly proven himself in the trenches with us. He is fully aligned with our mission of amplifying filmmakers with Assistive AI, and Scott and I are eager to realize even greater successes together.”

Kapur said he was drawn to Flawless’s “ethical AI and deep roots in science and the film industry.”

“Nick, Scott and I have a special partnership that’s formed over the last couple years,” Kapur said. “I started off advising, then joined the board, and now I’m all-in. Together, we will continue working to change film for the better.”

Mann, in addition to his role at Flawless, is a DGA director, WGA writer and producer whose credits include “Fall,” “Heist,” “Final Score” and “The Tournament.” Lynes, a veteran tech entrepreneur, has launched a number of world-first products and websites, and he created and delivered a Lloyds of London-insured cryptographic software system for the gaming industry.

Flawless’ suite of AI-powered tools includes TrueSync, which enables dubbing designed to amplify work for dubbing actors and localization creatives, and DeepEditor, which expands the scope of editorial work by introducing a range of post-production capabilities. These products work in tandem with the company’s Artistic Rights Treasury (ART), a platform that is designed to ensure that actors and artists “maintain full control and consent over their performances.”
