Agent Venom

Across the near-infinite parallel realities that make up Marvel Comics’ Venomverse, Earth-616’s Venom is one of the most unique iterations of the Venom symbiote to have ever taken a host, with the character’s military background differentiating him from other popular iterations of this Spider-Man-related character almost completely. In new cosplay photos, Flash Thompson’s Agent Venom comes to life, showing exactly what his inevitable silver screen costume needs to look like!

Expertly stepping into the shoes of Agent Venom as seen on Instagram, Ernie Cisneros (@s_e_n_t_i_n_e_l_) is no stranger to creating and wearing incredibly realistic full-body cosplay designs that pull from every corner of Marvel’s enormous comic book universe.

Wearing the comic-accurate threads of Taskmaster, Shocker, The Prowler, and Daredevil, Ernie has also developed a completely unique take on Bullseye and has more recently dressed as the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again villain Muse, with these custom outfits and more showcasing Ernie’s talent as an artist and cosplayer — his Agent Venom design being no exception.

Making his Klyntar-imbued debut in 20011’s Amazing Spider-Man #654, by Fred Van Lente and Stefano Caselli, Peter Parker’s former high school bully-turned-decorated soldier, Flash Thompson, became the latest host in a long line of Lethal Protectors, making his mark on the character in a way that hadn’t been seen before. Allowing Flash to regrow his legs whenever he’s in uniform, Agent Venom’s skills on the battlefield as a soldier mixed with the innate abilities of the Venom symbiote helped Flash become a new kind of hero, with his eventual evolution into Agent Anti-Venom only further solidifying that important role.

Photographed by @witchhazel_cosplays, Ernie succeeds in bringing Agent Venom’s stylish Klyntar costume to life, with his slick black symbiote skin, blinding white spider logo, and light armor making this design pop in a way that looks as if Flash has walked right off the comic page. Sharing wide shots of Ernie in the first two photos, the third shows Flash crouched in a very Spider-Man-esque pose, showing off the surprising mobility of Ernie’s design despite the thought that the outfit’s spiked shoulder pads, gauntlets, cowboy collar, knee and shin pads, and fully stocked utility belt could hinder his movement.

Venom: The Last Dance may be the final entry in Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy, but that shouldn’t discourage fans from wanting to see more of this character in real life. Not only is the cosplay community constantly finding ways to bring any number of Marvel heroes and villains to life on the regular — especially Venom variants — but it’s rumored that Venom might factor into the much-anticipated fourth entry of Spider-Man’s MCU series of films, with Eddie Brock possibly being replaced as the symbiote’s host, hopefully paving the way for Agent Venom’s official introduction into the live-action version of the Venomverse.

Summary

When a sentient alien symbiote merges with Eddie Brock, the result is the supervillain Venom, a classic and fan-favorite addition to Spider-Man's rogues gallery. Though Brock is not the only human that the Venom symbiote has bonded with, he is the most well-known and popular, in part due to his appearances in the Spider-Man as well as standalone films. Since his introduction, Venom has gone from villain to antihero, facing down the serial killer Cletus Kasady and his symbiote, Carnage.
