‘Age Of Attraction’ Finds Love With Netflix Viewers

Age gap love is proving to be a hit with Netflix subscribers.

The streamer launched Age of Attraction, its latest dating show, last week and it entered the streamer’s global top ten at number six.

It scored 3.8M views in its first five days after its launch on March 11. It has become the first new Netflix reality show to enter the top ten in some time and it came in above Netflix gameshow hit Million Dollar Secret, which scored 3.7M views in its first week.

The Peter Serafinowicz-hosted quiz competition was quickly renewed for a second season, so clearly Age of Attraction is in the renewal conversation if it continues to attract viewers.

It came in just below tropical dating format Perfect Match, which has become one of Netflix’s staple reality hits that aired its third season last year. That show, which comes from Kinetic Content, premiered in 2023 when Netflix still used hours viewed as its metric. Using that methodology, it was viewed for 24.6M hours in its first week, just ahead of Age of Attraction’s 19.1M hours viewed.

Age of Attraction ostensibly asks the question: is love ageless? The show, which is hosted by 45-year-old Nick Viall and his 27-year wife Natalie Joy, is one of the few dating series created by women, Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn, who run Velvet Hammer Media.

It launched with five episodes with three three more episodes streaming from Wednesday, March 18 and the finale running on Wednesday, March 25.

Clearly, love is in the air at Neflix as the latest Love Is Blind: The Reunion also performed well this week with 8.9M views.

Elsewhere on the charts, the second season of One Piece launched with 16.8M views, putting it top of the English-language TV charts. This was marginally down on the first season, which premiered with 18.5M views in its first week of launch in 2023. The first season did, however, also return to the Netflix charts this week with 3.6M views, just below Age of Attraction in seventh spot.

On the film side, War Machine pummeled through with 44.4M views in its second week, while Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere came in second with 6.3M views in its first week.
