In the underworld court known as the White Church, Harvey Dent is asked to litigate the divorce of the Royal Flush Gang's King and Queen of Hearts. But there's much more at stake than assets at this trial - in fact, it's a matter of life and death! When cheating allegations surround the King, it's up to Harvey and his new assistant Lake Cantwell, to clean up the monarch's mess. And why does Harvey get the sneaking suspicion that someone is pulling the strings and threatening to send Gotham's criminal underworld into a frenzy? |
However, instead of returning as Gotham’s official district attorney, Harvey will be working for the criminal underworld, resolving “the conflicts of Gotham's weirdest and most dangerous criminals.” This twist gives new depth to Dent’s attorney origin.
Harvey Dent Is Returning to His Roots as an Attorney in New Two-Face Series
Cover B Christian Ward Card Stock Variant for Two-Face #2
The synopsis for issue #1 teases that Dent's reclamation of his role as an attorney comes after an uneasy peace has been struck between his two halves. This revelation is intriguing, as it suggests that Ward will explore a fresh dynamic within Dent’s dual personality, setting the stage for an unseen side of the character. The synopses also detail Harvey’s first two cases: his initial client is the notorious Victor Zsasz, while issue #2 focuses on Dent litigating the divorce of the Royal Flush Gang's King and Queen of Hearts in the underworld court known as the White Church.
This series effectively brings Harvey Dent back to his attorney roots, centering on this new chapter in his career. Fans will have to wait until December 4, 2024, for the first issue and January 1, 2025, for the second, but the series already appears poised to be phenomenal. The premise is brilliant, reviving the past with a unique twist that allows for a deep exploration of Harvey’s character while providing ample opportunities for humor. Moreover, the synopsis for issue #2 hints at the introduction of Harvey’s new assistant, Lake Cantwell, paving the way for an entirely unexplored dynamic that promises to be captivating.
