AFL star Dale 'Daisy' Thomas is set to expand his career in an exciting new role which explores his second favourite sport.

The Collingwood premiership player, 37, revealed on Thursday he will soon be hosting his own golf show on Channel Seven called Teeing Off with Daisy Thomas.

'Golf gave me the perfect amount of competitiveness I missed once retiring from AFL,' Thomas told the Herald Sun.

'My aim and hopes for the show is to showcase some great Australian golfing destinations and courses.

'Hope that anyone watching gets the itch to put it in the golf group chat.'

Thomas is an avid golfer and recently competed in the Pro Am celebrity match at the LIV Golf tournament in Adelaide, alongside Dylan Alcott.

'Viewers will be laughing at me clunking shots, throwing clubs, swearing and in between the odd good shot,' Thomas added.

In December, the Victorian athlete admitted he was 'disappointed' at missing out on a plum Triple M hosting gig.

Following fellow Triple M presenter Marty Sheargold's exit from the Melbourne breakfast shift back in July, Daisy took over the gig alongside Wil Anderson and Rosie Walton.

It was reported the trio were put together with a week's notice in the wake of Marty's unexpected departure.

And Daisy and Wil's temporary breakfast run came to a shock end with Mick Molloy, Titus O'Reily and Nick Riewoldt taking over the shift along with Rosie.

Taking to Instagram, Daisy revealed he was 'disappointed' at not being afforded the opportunity to continue his tenure.

However, he was quick to thank his radio colleagues and listeners.

'Well that’s that. I couldn’t be prouder of what we built after being thrown together in a week and thrust into the magical world that is breakfast radio,' he wrote.

'I’m not too proud to say I was disappointed to not get the nod to continue next year, but that is just all part of it and like you all, I’ll be tuning into Mick In The Mornings from Jan 20.'

He also offered a heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked on his show.

'To every body behind the scenes, this show isn’t what it was without you, but in particular, Jay thank you for taking a chance on us and supporting us right to the end,' he wrote.

Thomas made headlines in November 2022 after telling fans on his socials he had gotten on bended knee to propose to his long-term girlfriend Natasha Bongiorno.

The pair married in a star-studded wedding in February last year

The former Carlton player selected picturesque Lake House in Daylesford, rural Victoria to pop the question.

Thomas, who was a runner-up on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2010, has a daughter, Tilly, from a previous relationship.
