EXCLUSIVE: Actress and TikTok-Instagram comedy content creator Jessica Marchi is set to star in Hermes Cavagnini’s Italian romantic comedy feature Fashionably Ellie, which will roll cameras in the next week in Lake Garda, Italy.
Fashionably Ellie tells the story of fashion influencer Fashionably Ellie (Marchi) and a model named Gloria, both competing for the role of spokesmodel for an important fashion brand. The clash unfolds with comedic innuendos as both models inadvertently start to flirt with the same man, Charlie, the owner of the location where the photoshoot for the brand takes place.
Cavagnini wrote and is directing and producing the pic, which is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor. It is executive produced by Mario Niccolò Messina for Insvrgence. Costumes will be provided by fashion designer Tina Olari.
Virginia Vignati (Pegasus, Lucky Heart) plays Gloria and Charlie May (Nick’s Hunter Street) plays Charlie.
Cavagnini has directed such movies as the upcoming Pegasus, Slices of Love, A Christmas Dream, Wasteland and the Italian drama Ritratto di un imprenditore di provincia. Upcoming is Blue Wonder starring Michael Badalucco.
The feature will be distributed by digital platform Insvrgence dropping first on Amazon on demand at the end of 2026 and ultimately YouTube worldwide in mid-2027.
Marchi, born in Bergamo, Italy, before moving to Australia, is known for her Italian cultural comedic sketches on social media that she writes, stars in and directs. She has built a combined audience of 2 million followers across all platforms with hundreds of millions of cumulative views.
After moving to Australia, Marchi trained at NIDA with coaches Les Chantery and Kim Farrant. Her credits include the music video “Empowered” which she wrote, edited and executive produced; the Fremantle TV series Significant Other; the drama-thriller feature Get Free; Bridgestone Multimedia’s The Book of Job; and TLA Releasing’s The Winner Takes All.
