Ace Ventura: Pet Detective producer James G Robinson has died at 90, according to a Friday report from TMZ.
The Hollywood veteran was also behind the film's sequel Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls as well as a remake of The Exorcist.
And Robinson gained fame for being the person who berated a troubled Lindsay Lohan in 2006 when she was on the set of the Jane Fonda movie Georgia Rule.
Lohan had been accused of holding up production when she called in sick after allegedly partying.
Robinson called her 'discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional' in a brutal letter he wrote to her which was leaked.
The site reported that the producer had died 'peacefully' on February 15.

The Baltimore native got is start in films in 1984 when he worked on The Stone Boy.
In 1988 he had a hit with the film Young Guns starring Emilio Estevez and his brother Charlie Sheen, and the following year he made Renegades then Young Guns II.
In 1990 he made The Exorcist III and in 1991 he had success with the Kevin Costner movie Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves.
The Last Of The Mohicans starring Daniel Day-Lewis in 1992 made him a fortune.
In 1993 he worked on the iconic film True Romance with Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette.
Other notable movies include Sharon Stone's Diabolique in 1996 and 1997's Wild America.
In 2006 he worked with Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie on The Good Shepherd which was directed by Robert De Niro.

The following year Robinson had a challenge on his hands when he worked with Lohan.
His savage letter reprimanded the young actress.
'We are well aware that your ongoing all-night heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called "exhaustion."'
Lohan reportedly had to be taken from set to a local hospital, where she was treated for heat exhaustion after a night of hard partying.
When the movie came out in 2007, Lohan managed to deliver a very good performance without a hint of being out of it.
Next the producer worked with Amanda Bynes on Sydney White in 2007, look before she experienced her own troubles.
And then he produced the 2011 film Dream House.
In 2016 he was credited for 10 episodes of The Exorcist TV series. His last credit was on the film The Exorcist: The Believer in 2023.
