Wonder Woman's Absolute Universe Counterpart Unleashes Powerful New Abilities
With Magic at Her Disposal, Absolute Wonder Woman Is a Powerhouse
Wonder Woman is known for her fighting prowess in most continuities, and the Absolute Universe's incarnation of her takes that to a whole new level. Her proficiency with magic allows her to perform astounding feats in battle. She's able to cast attack spells in battle, such as when she ignites a burst of power through her bracelets to ward off hellspawn creatures. Diana can also use magic directly on enemies by saying an incantation aloud. These witch-like properties make this Wonder Woman distinct from the original, elevating her to the level of prolific DC magic users like John Constantine and Zatanna.

Absolute Wonder Woman #1 Is a Fiery Reclamation of What the Iconic Hero Represents (Review)
Absolute Wonder Woman #1 is an absolute triumph for DC Comics' new Absolute universe, redefining a classic hero via gripping drama and action.
Magical abilities aren't the only skills at Wonder Woman's disposal here. Much like her main universe counterpart, Diana possesses the superhuman abilities of an Amazon warrior. She exhibits her strength when she's capable of withstanding harsh blows from her opponent and deflecting them with her bracelets. Meanwhile, her speed comes into play when she runs and leaps over Harbinger Prime's laser eye beams, proving she's still on par with DC's fastest speedsters. With these innate talents, in addition to the dark magic sparking at her fingertips, Absolute Wonder Woman is nothing short of a force to be reckoned with.
Absolute Wonder Woman's Hellish Origin Is the Source of Her Newfound Power
Wonder Woman Learns Dark Magic From Her Mother, Circe
In this alternate take on Wonder Woman's origin story, she isn't brought up by her sisterhood of Amazons in Themyscira. Instead, as punishment for the Amazons, Diana is taken as a baby and given to the witch Circe in Hell. Growing up in Hell as opposed to Paradise hardens Wonder Woman and makes her one of DC's toughest heroes. In her youth, Diana is surrounded by hellish creatures, and the fact that she shows little fear around them hints at how this has shaped her. Wonder Woman being the Princess of Hell is certainly a radical reinvention of this traditional hero.
Wonder Woman's upbringing in Hell prepares her for the battles ahead in the world above.
Not only does her upbringing in Hell enforce this Wonder Woman's resilience through hardship, but it also explains how she comes to learn the dark magic she utilizes on the battlefield. Circe raises Diana, and so her magic gets passed onto her daughter. In flashbacks throughout the issue, Circe is seen uttering incantations and mixing potions, and soon Diana is depicted doing the same. Moreover, magic isn't all that Wonder Woman receives from her mother. Circe reveals that she has bestowed the "greatest weapons imaginable" upon her daughter, and Wonder Woman wastes no time in showing these off.
Wonder Woman Gets Hardcore Weapons as the Princess of Hell
Diana's Mystical Lasso and Sword Make Her an Unstoppable Force
Wonder Woman's upbringing in Hell prepares her for the battles ahead in the world above with weapons that can aid her in conflicts. One of these is a glowing red lasso. The golden Lasso of Truth is a staple of standard Wonder Woman lore, with it being both a weapon for thwarting evil and a tool for finding peace through the unveiling of truth. However, this new lasso from Hell doesn't give off the same divine energy as the original. While much remains unknown about what Absolute Wonder Woman's Nemesis Lasso is capable of, it's already a thrilling upgrade for Diana.

While a lasso is typical for her to wield in a fight, Wonder Woman's giant sword is an unexpected addition to her arsenal. Though she's fought with swords in the past, this one is much more imposing. This sword is referred to by Diana as "the mythical Athena Blade", and it lives up to its awesome name as she uses it to combat Harbinger Prime. The sword itself has ties to her magical side as well, with its sheath being a small pouch infused with an enchantment. These weapons aren't all that Wonder Woman has on her side, as she has another secret weapon.

Wonder Woman's Power Extends Beyond Physical Prowess & Weaponry
As impressive as Wonder Woman's powers and weapons are in the heat of battle, a superpower that trumps all of those lies deep beneath her surface. When faced with a foe as threatening as Harbinger Prime, rather than backing down when the situation looks bleak, Wonder Woman holds her ground and declares herself as the world's protector. In the usual DC Universe, Diana has a team of fellow heroes and a community of Amazons to back her up if things go awry in a moment like this. However, in Darkseid's new universe, Wonder Woman stands alone - and yet, she still stands.

Wonder Woman's difficult circumstances in this version of reality contribute to her strength. She's the last of the Amazons in this universe, exiled to Hell and forced to spend much of her childhood not even knowing what she is or where she hails from. Her reclamation of her Amazonian heritage, and her proclamation that she is fulfilling their duty of protection in their stead, cements this Wonder Woman as an awe-inspiring figure within the Absolute Universe. Her weapons and magic enhance her battle power in remarkable ways, but it's Absolute Wonder Woman's indomitable spirit that proves she's the ultimate hero.
