Absolute Batman Unveils His Batmobile's Full Arsenal Including a Literal Wrecking Ball - Seriously

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Absolute Batman #3Absolute Batman's new Batmobile is even more insane than I already thought it was. Making its debut in Absolute Batman #2, the signature vehicle of the Absolute Universe's version of The Dark Knight is unlike any Batmobile that's been seen before. However, Absolute Batman #3 amps up the vehicular mayhem even further, showing off its full arsenal and features as one of the most intense Batmobiles of all time.

As seen in Absolute Batman #3 by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, covert operative Alfred Pennyworth finally gets the chance to meet with Batman face-to-face to propose a new partnership in the face of the vicious Gotham gang known as the Party Animals and their leader, Black Mask, an underground mercenary with unlimited resources. However, their entire conversation takes place within the behemoth that is Absolute Batman's Batmobile, a modified (and all-black) black dump truck with a full array of weapons and features Alfred and The Dark Knight use to evade the police and take out the Party Animals.

With Black Mask having recently offered Batman a deal, Alfred encourages The Dark Knight to take the 200 million dollars in order to make a real impact on Gotham. Alfred also promises that his agency will be able to track the transfer of funds and bring Black Mask in. After all, the Absolute Universe's Batman is not a millionaire, nor does he wield the same kind of high-tech gear and resources the Batman of the main DC Universe typically does.

Okay, I Admit It. Absolute Batman Is Way More 'Batman' Than the Original Bruce Wayne

After reading that latest issue, I'm ready to admit that DC's new Absolute Batman is actually "out-Batman-ing" the original Bruce Wayne himself.

That said, the entire exchange is entirely overshadowed by the massive bat-branded wrecking ball Batman deploys from the back of his Batmobile, completely demolishing the pursuing cars filled with armed Party Animals. However, the wrecking ball is only the tip of the iceberg of what this new Batmobile has in store. While he might not have millions of dollars, Absolute Batman's car is a testament to his skill as a resourceful engineer.

A True High-Speed Arsenal For Maximum Vehicular Mayhem

At the very beginning of the epic chase, Batman reveals that his Batmobile can convert and transform to become far faster and more maneuverable, complete with what Alfred confirms are homemade jet engines. Likewise, this new Batmobile is big enough to have its own turret and gunner seat for Alfred while Batman continues driving, firing a collection of mini and electrically charged batarangs specifically designed to blow tires. As such, the Batmobile certainly helps punctuate Batman's initial belief that he'd just continue "building bigger" to counter Black Mask's attacks and plans for Gotham.

"Absolute Batman's car was built from the ground up, designed with the sole purpose of aiding his rage-fueled crusade..."

Combined with the aforementioned wrecking ball and its ability to drive underwater, there's no doubt the Absolute Batmobile has one of the coolest designs and arsenals ever. It's even cooler when remembering that Batman had to have designed the entire thing himself. He didn't just request one from Lucius Fox and Wayne Enterprises' R&D before making his own modifications. Absolute Batman's car was built from the ground up, designed with the sole purpose of aiding his rage-fueled crusade. As such, I'm really hoping we'll be seeing more of it in the future, along with any other exciting weapons/features it might have.
