Despite the launch of classic games to the PlayStation Plus library, many of them, understandably, come without said trophies due to their age. However, one PlayStation 1 classic that launched on the PS Plus Premium library over two years ago has just received a major update and players will now be able to achieve that Platinum trophy for the first time ever.
The game in question is Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire and now, for the first time, a Platinum trophy is available to achieve for the game for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
First launched back in 1995, Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire was a rail shooter developed by LucasArts and, as you can probably guess from the title, serves as the sequel to Star Wars: Rebel Assault. The story follows Rookie One, a pilot who must control ships such as a YT-1300 Corellian Transport, a B-wing, and a Y-wing, all whilst attempting to disable the production of a new TIE variant known as the TIE Phantom, which has the ability to cloak.
Now, players will be able to experience Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire all over again, and with an added Platinum trophy to boot. Not only that, but said trophy is extremely easy to achieve. You will not have to clear maps or play for hours on end like modern-day trophies. Instead, you will simply need to complete the campaign, which in itself lasts merely three to four hours.
Additionally, you will need to achieve at least 80% shooting accuracy in some stages of the game. However, thanks to Sony’s emulator, which includes a rewind mode, you will easily be able to head back and try again if you are short of the required percentage.
Since the recent patch for Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire was added, over 20% of players have already achieved the Platinum trophy, which just goes to show how easy it is to achieve.
