Cannon famously played Felice Martin, the mother of Tori Spelling's character Donna Martin on the beloved teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210.
The domineering Felice was infamous for her sharp judgment and for routinely snubbing any of Donna's boyfriends who lacked finances or social status.
Fans branded her the ultimate hypocrite after the moralizing socialite was exposed for cheating on her husband, Dr John Martin, played by actor Michael Durrell.
90210 ran for 10 seasons on Fox from 1990 until 2000.
Cannon is also known for her role as Amy Kane, the wife of Will Kane (played by Lee Majors), in High Noon.
Her other film roles include Fools' Parade (1971), Private Duty Nurses (1971) and Women in Chains (1972).

Cannon was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Laguna Beach, California.
She has been married to actor Dean Butler, 70, who played Almanzo Wilder for a number of seasons on the NBC series Little House on the Prairie, since 2001.
Little House on the Prairie ran for nine seasons from 1974 to 1983.
Cannon was previously married to commercial director Richard Chambers.
The couple welcomed son Colin Thomas Chambers, before divorcing in 1980.
