While an official announcement for The Galactic Patrol has yet to be released, manga fans know that there are thrilling battles and unforgettable characters waiting to shine. These are some scenes that the animated adaptation can’t afford to mess up, as they set the tone for the saga and stand out as some of its best moments.

Merus Knocking Out Goku and Vegeta

Early in the saga, Goku and Vegeta meet Merus, a high-ranking member of the Galactic Patrol who proves his skill by neutralizing both Saiyans with his specialized stun gun. Merus moves faster than Goku and Vegeta and effortlessly knocks them both out. By the time they wake up, they find themselves at Galactic Patrol headquarters.

While on the surface, the scene may not appear as significant in comparison to others, it sets the stage for larger conflicts and reveals later in the arc. By allowing Merus to showcase his skills early on, the storyline establishes him as a central character while priming audiences for the greater upcoming threat.

Moro’s Arrival on New Namek

When Moro, the central antagonist of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, arrives on New Namek, it’s abundantly clear that he poses a new kind of threat in Dragon Ball Super. Unlike the vast majority of enemies in the franchise, Moro’s power stems from magic, which allows him to manipulate the environment, drain life energy, and read memories.

His arrival on New Namek signals the start of a high-stakes conflict that the Z-Fighters will greatly struggle against. When Moro gets his hands on the Namekian Dragon Balls, he restores his strength and unleashes the prisoners held captive by the Galactic Patrol.

The Galactic Prison Escape

When the Galactic Prisoners escape, the situation instantly goes from bad to worse. With the prisoners free, Moro gains the manpower to scout new planets, take on the remaining Z-Fighters, and destroy the Galactic Patrol. The release of these prisoners causes chaos across Universe 7 as they help Moro grow in power.

Among the freed prisoners is Seven-Three, an emotionless android with the power to replicate abilities after grabbing an opponent’s neck, who plays a major role in the saga. The release of the prisoners and Moro’s overwhelming strength sets off a chain of events that will lead to some of the most thrilling sequences in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga.

Moro Absorbs Seven-Three

In the latter half of the Saga, Moro absorbs Seven-Three, marking a massive turning point in the series. By consuming the android, Moro undergoes a transformation, restores his lost strength, gains limitless stamina, and the ability to permanently copy abilities. The fusion turns Moro into a far more dangerous and unpredictable threat.

Paired with the way Moro dispatches Seven-Three, this moment in the series is intense, jaw-dropping, and most of all, executed in a way that signifies a major shift in the balance of power. Using his new skills and energy, Moro gains abilities that turn him into a seemingly invincible enemy.

Goku Masters Ultra Instinct

Throughout the arc, Goku trains to master Ultra Instinct under the guidance of Merus. When he finally does master the form, Goku gains the ability to tap into its power without the need for extreme circumstances. His newfound control over Ultra Instinct marks a high point in the story, serving as the moment of triumph.

Using his newfound control over the state, Goku is able to take on Moro far more easily than in any previous battle. It serves as the climactic battle of the series following one character’s sacrifice, turning it into a moment of both resolve and growth.

Vegeta Uses Forced Spirit Fission

Vegeta Mastering Forced Spirit Fission

Vegeta’s use of Forced Spirit Fission stands out as one of his greatest moments in the upcoming arc. This new skill allows him to separate fused beings and strip them of stolen energy, enabling him to neutralize enemies who rely on absorption or fusion, as Moro had. Forced Spirit Fission acts as the antithesis of Goku’s Spirit Bomb.

This technique turns the tide in the series, forcing Moro to fight on Vegeta’s terms and significantly weakening him. This technique marked a massive step in Vegeta’s growth as a warrior and stands out as one of the arc’s most defining moments.

The Return of the Grand Supreme Kai

Grand Supreme Kai

The return of the Grand Supreme Kai reintroduces a powerful, experienced deity into Universe 7’s hierarchy. He’s able to hold his own against Moro and provides significant aid to the Z-Fighters as he takes on Moro alongside Goku and Vegeta.

The Grand Supreme Kai’s revival also deepens the series’ lore, as his return connects past conflicts with Majin Buu as well as Moro. Grand Supreme Kai’s introduction to the series is both thrilling and compelling as he provides aid and expands the franchise’s canonical lore.

Merus’s Sacrifice

Merus's Sacrifice

Merus’s sacrifice marks a massive turning point in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Given his true identity as an angel-in-training, Merus cannot directly intervene in the affairs of mortals. However, he has a strong sense of justice and can’t turn a blind eye to the battle, taking a stand against Moro that ultimately leads to his erasure.

His intervention helped turn the tide, allowing Goku to achieve a heightened state of Ultra Instinct. While Merus eventually returns as a moral, his sacrifice stood out as a defining moment for both his character and the arc as a whole.
