Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
If you’ve been keeping up with the ever-expanding Sheridanverse, you already know there are a few actors who just feel like part of the furniture at this point. One of them? James Jordan. And now, he’s teasing that he might not be done riding the neo-Western wave just yet. Speaking to ScreenRant, Jordan — who’s appeared in five separate Taylor Sheridan series and two films — was asked whether he’d show up in the upcoming Paramount+ drama The Madison. His answer? Cryptic, but very on brand.
“I can neither confirm nor deny,” he said, before making it very clear where his loyalty lies. “Anything that Taylor asks me to do, it's an immediate yes.” Jordan described himself as being in Sheridan’s “wheelhouse of actors that he recycles often,” alongside familiar faces like Nichole Galicia and Matt Gerald. And he sounds genuinely grateful about it. “It's a real pleasure and an honor,” he explained, adding that when Sheridan called him about Lioness and Landman, he didn’t even ask for details.
“He just said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ And I'm like, ‘Yes, sir. You just tell me when and where, and I'll be there.’ That's always the case for Taylor.”
Who Is James Jordan?
That kind of blind trust says a lot about their working relationship. It also makes the idea of Jordan popping up in The Madison feel less like speculation and more like inevitability. For context, Jordan first stepped into Sheridan’s world in the 2017 thriller Wind River. From there, he went on to appear in the 2021 wildfire drama Those Who Wish Me Dead, before making his TV debut in the franchise as Steve Hendon in Yellowstone. Over Seasons 2 through 5, he became a low-key fan favorite.
Since then, he’s played Ed Simmons in Mayor of Kingstown, Cookie in 1883, Two Cups in Lioness, and Dale Bradley in Landman. The latter two marked his first leading roles after years of recurring and guest appearances — and clearly, he’s not slowing down. Right now, though, Jordan says his focus is firmly on Landman and Lioness. “For the time being, for sure,” he noted, while also teasing that “down the line there'll be some other stuff where I can pop up and play some interesting characters.”
All of James Jordan's roles for Taylor Sheridan can be streamed online.
