Whether you'll be snuggling up with your significant other at home, or escaping the so-called most romantic time of the year, a cavalcade of new movies and shows have recently landed on the world's best streaming services. And, because we cater for every genre fan at TechRadar, this week's round-up includes something for everyone. A rom-com bonanza, this most certainly isn't.

Predator: Badlands (Hulu/Disney+)

Up for a bit of sci-fi action-horror? Hulu and Disney+ are catering for you this weekend with the official streaming debut on Predator: Badlands.

Badlands continues the Predator franchise's revival under new creative overlord Dan Trachtenburg with another sparkling, gruesome, and action-packed installment. This time, we follow one of the titular Yautja named Dex (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), who heads to remote, life-threatening planet to kill a monster that'll earn the respect of his emotionally detached father and wider tribe.

Thia (Elle Fanning), a Weyland-Yutani android – sorry, Alien fans, this isn't another crossover flick – joins Dex on this danger-filled adventure that'll scratch every sci-fi fan's itch. – TP

Cross season 2 (Prime Video)

Cross is back and better than ever. The first three episodes of the Prime Video thriller show's second season are out now, so you've got ample opportunity to get reacquainted with the brilliant forensic psychologist and his team.

Season 2 sees Aaron Cross reteam with FBI agent Kayla Craig, who has a more significant role this time around. Their job is to protect billionaire Lance Durand (Matthew Lillard) after he receives a death threat that's linked to the murder of another billionaire.

As a long-time fan of Lillard's, I'm excited to see him playing a very different character in this absorbing Amazon TV Original. – Lucy Buglass, senior entertainment writer

How to Get to Heaven From Belfast (Netflix)

Lisa McGee, you've done it again. The Derry Girls creator is now two for two when it comes to glorious shows she's single-handedly pioneering, and we're plunged straight back into eccentric Irish charm with Netflix's How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.

This time, three friends are brought together by the death of their estranged fourth friend, with the quartet having kept a deadly secret for over 20 years. What's the secret? We've no idea, but it could explain why things are getting strange in the town of Knockdara.

Expect a banging 2000s soundtrack, cameos from the Father Ted cast, and lines that remind you of the 90s school kids that made McGee famous. It's the most Irish show I've ever seen (complimentary). – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter

Eternity (Apple TV)

Apple TV is slowly growing its movie library, and Eternity looks like its next must-see flick. The A24 romantic comedy, which arrives in theaters late last year, holds a 77% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes from said release, so clearly it's well worth watching.

Eternity provides a moral conundrum and a very stressful journey to the afterlife. We follow Elizabeth Olsen's character Joan, who must choose to live out eternity with the man she spent her whole life with, or with her first love, who died when they were young and has waited decades for her to join him there.

It's pretty cruel if you ask me, but thankfully it's balanced out with plenty of comedy. Will you be checking out this Apple Original on Valentine's Day? – LB

The Artful Dodger season 2 (Hulu/Disney+)

After an almost three-year hiatus, Jack Dawkins – aka the Artful Dodger from Charles Dicken's 1838 novel Oliver Twist – is finally back on our screens. The pickpocket-turned-surgeon is still struggling to shake off his criminal past, but now finds himself in a new predicament: a love triangle with Lady Belle and a new inspector, Henry Boxer, who's on the hunt for him.

If you’ve been wondering how to watch The Artful Dodger Season 2, it's out now in full and brings back many familiar faces from last season, including Fagin and Lady Jane Fox. The Australian period crime drama, set 20-years after the original novel, was well-received on its debut, and I have little doubt it'll steal your attention again. – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor

Neighbors (HBO Max)

Imagine the neighbor you hate most – maybe because they leave their bins on your driveway, or always throw a party you can hear three streets away. Double down on that feeling and times it by a million... and you've got the cast of Neighbors., a new HBO Max docuseries that'll surely grip fans of real-life drama.

Created by the producers of Marty Supreme, A24 is officially dabbling in the reality TV show space. Except this feels a lot like a mockumentary, with each episode spotlighting unhinged feuds that couldn't have been written if anyone tried. Homeowner's association, eat your heart out. – JV

Can You Keep a Secret? (Paramount+)

Following the success of the mockumentary This Country, Simon Mayhew-Archer has returned to the West Country with his new BBC comedy Can You Keep a Secret?. All six episodes of the sitcom premiered in January on British shores, but it's now available internationally thanks to Paramount+.

Here's the shtick: after one of them is mistakenly declared dead, a retired couple (Mark Heap and Dawn French) decides to play along to secure an insurance pay-out. However, faking a death isn’t easy, especially when their anxious son (Craig Roberts) is married to a police officer (Mandip Gill). For anyone looking for an easy watch, this gem hits the spot. – AS
