Voting kicked off Sunday for the 50th Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) Awards.
After announcing John Carpenter as the recipient of this year’s Career Achievement Award, LAFCA members will recognize some of the year’s best films and talents during Sunday’s voting ahead of the awards ceremony on Jan. 11, 2025 at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
At last year’s LAFCA Awards, The Zone of Interest won Best Picture, and runner-up Oppenheimer went on to win Best Picture at the 96th Academy Awards.
Founded in 1975, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association is composed of LA-based professional film critics working in the local print and electronic media. LAFCA members hold their annual awards vote, honoring screen excellence on both sides of the camera.
