However, thanks to PlayStation Plus, PS fans can get their hands on a myriad of older titles at no extra cost and so, for a sprinkling of nostalgia, we have put together a list of some of the best PlayStation 3 titles which you can currently grab on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 courtesy of PS Plus.

Batman: Arkham Origins
Released back in 2013 as the third main installment in the Batman: Arkham franchise, Origins served as a follow-up to 2011's Batman: Arkham City and follows the titular hero after a bounty is placed on his head courtesy of crime lord, Black Mask. The much younger Batman must now fend off eight assassins who have traveled to Gotham City to take him down. Not only that, but with the main plot of the game taking place on Christmas Eve, this will be the perfect title to get stuck into over the rapidly approaching holidays.

Demon's Souls
A remake of the 2009 title of the same name and originally launched on the PlayStation 3, Demon's Souls is seen as the predecessor to the Dark Souls franchise, yet the two games are unrelated. However, by introducing many of the mechanics that would be used in Dark Souls, it would be fair to call Demon's Souls the blueprint when it comes to the Souls genre. Featuring the challenging combat we all love and hate, as well as the storytelling FromSoftware is known for, Demon's Souls is a must-play for any Souls fan.

Fallout: New Vegas (+ Fallout 3)
Available to download for free for PlayStation Plus Premium members, Fallout: New Vegas is widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time, and definitely the most popular Fallout title. First released back in 2010 by Obsidian Entertainment, New Vegas takes place in the Mojave Desert 204 years after a devastating nuclear war and, as always, players must navigate the barren land full of monsters and equally monstrous humans. Now with Fallout: New Vegas set to receive an official remaster, now is the perfect time to try out the original.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X
Now for another title which currently has an official remake in development, Resident Evil Code: Veronica X is also available as part of the PlayStation Plus Premium library. Launched back in 2000, yet receiving a high-definition remaster for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, Veronica X is considered an underrated gem of the Resident Evil franchise. Following the Redfield siblings, their story begins on a remote prison island as they battle a viral outbreak.

Dishonored
First released back in 2012, Dishonored is, at least in my opinion, a masterpiece and one that is too underrated for my liking. Developed by Arkane Studios, the action-adventure game follows the story of Corvo Attano, a bodyguard to the Empress who is framed for her murder and must flee across the plague-ridden industrial city of Dunwall. Allowing the player to choose their gameplay style: either stealth or all out chaos, with the choice affecting gameplay, Dishonored was ahead of its time, and now, it's available to play for free for PlayStation Plus Premium members.
