In addition to being a die-hard fan of filmmaking, television, video gaming, and anything else with a gripping narrative, Aidan Kelley is also a passionate and detail-oriented writer and journalist at Collider.com. In addition to his work as a Senior Resource Writer, Aidan has also contributed to Collider's features and news reporting sections. He has covered major industry events, such as San Diego Comic-Con and the D23 Expo, and has had the privelege of interviewing industry stars like Bruce CampbellMaggie QChad Stahelski, and more. This sincere love for the art of storytelling began at a young age, with Aidan making video movie reviews for the news program at his local high school. That love only increased over the years, with an ongoing career in independent filmmaking and screenwriting after graduating with a degree in Film and television from DePaul University.

It's been 3 years since John Wick: Chapter 4 hit theaters, and ever since, people keep asking if the allegedly dead action hero will be back. Now, yeah, we're thinking he's back, and not in the way some fans may think. During today's PlayStation State of Play event, Lionsgate and Saber Interactive officially unveiled the first look at its currently untitled John Wick video game, and it's just as glorious as fans of Keanu Reeves' action hero were hoping for.

The action-packed trailer begins with some pre-rendered footage, bringing the unique crime universe of Chad Stahelski's blockbuster series to life in spectacular fashion. We get to see the Baba Yaga in all his glory followed by his signature "yeah," which certainly sounds a lot like The Matrix star himself. Finally, the trailer ends with a proper look at some brutal gameplay as John takes on the deadliest foes in this vast criminal underworld.

While the trailer certainly showcases Keanu Reeves' likeness, it's currently unknown if he'll return to voice the character in the upcoming game or if he'll be recast, similar to how Troy Baker played Harrison Ford's titular hero in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. However, fans will be happy to hear that longtime John Wick director Chad Stahelski is creatively involved with the project. Saber Interactive, being the game's developer, is also a positive sign, as the company has shown a knack for licensed video games, and even has two more in the works with the single-player survival games Hellraiser: Revival and Jurassic Park: Survival. An official synopsis for the game reads as follows:

"Created in collaboration between Saber, Lionsgate, and franchise director Chad Stahelski, the new 'Untitled John Wick Game' will feature an original script set in the John Wick timeline, expanding on the franchise’s intricate lore with familiar characters fans already know, as well as completely new ones. Saber’s design will be faithful to the unique style and signature elements of the series, including a distinct gun fu combat system, jaw-dropping camerawork, immersive driving experiences, and a variety of memorable environments, all crafted to make players feel like they are in a John Wick movie, playing the role of John Wick himself."

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to Collider for more details.
