Prime Video has officially entered the spooky season with the release of one of its most highly anticipated shows of 2026: Mike Flanagan’s Carrie. Loosely adapted from the Stephen King novel of the same name, the horror drama series is currently the top TV show on Prime Video, and it’s earned praise from critics and fans alike for its modern reimagining of the iconic source material. However, if you’ve already watched the new miniseries, or if that’s just not your cup of tea, there’s still plenty more to explore on the streaming platform. Here’s a look at three great shows that we think you should watch on Prime Video this week.

1 ‘Dead Ringers’ (2023)

Developed by Alice Birch, Dead Ringers is a remake of David Cronenberg’s 1988 film, in turn an adaptation of Bari Wood and Jack Geasland’s 1977 novel, Twins. The story revolves around twin gynecologists, Beverly and Elliot Mantle, who share an intensely codependent relationship. The Mantles walk a dark path of obsession, illegal experiments, and risky fertility procedures, but even as they approach the pinnacle of success, their personal psychological complexities threaten to ruin it all. Rachel Weisz plays the dual role of Elliot and Beverly, with Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Jennifer Ehle, and Michael Chernus in other notable roles.

An intelligent and thrilling psychological drama, Dead Ringers presents a diabolical take on the “twin condition," carried by the phenomenal dual performances by Rachel Weisz. While some have unfavorably compared the series to the original film, it’s a brilliant work in its own right and an excellent watch for genre fans. The show was quite well-received at the time of its release, and it went on to receive several accolades, including a Golden Globe nomination for Weisz and a Peabody Award.

2 ‘The Rig’ (2023–Present)

Created by David Macpherson, The Rig is a British supernatural sci-fi thriller show centered on an oil rig in the North Sea that is cut off from the mainland by an unnatural fog. Scientist Rose Mason (Emily Hampshire) investigates the situation and discovers mysterious spores that soon start infecting the crew members. The series stars Hampshire, Iain Glen, Mark Bonnar, Rochenda Sandall, and more in key roles.

The Rig had a generally positive critical reception when it first premiered in 2023, though it didn’t make much of a mark on mainstream audiences. The second season, which features much stronger writing and character development, brought it a higher level of acclaim, and it’s become something of a niche favorite these days. The plot may be more or less predictable, but The Rig’s visual storytelling is atmospheric and engaging, elevated by its gripping performances and a timely eco-thriller narrative that’s sure to resonate with contemporary horror fans.

3 ‘Ride or Die’ (2026)

Created by Tessa Coates, Ride or Die is a British action-adventure comedy series starring Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer as best friends Judith, an assassin, and Debbie, the American wife of a British MP who has no clue about her friend’s secret. Shortly after Debbie’s husband is found dead, the two women are forced to go on the run from a mysterious enemy. Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Jacky Ido, Sylvia Hoeks, and Bill Nighy star in other lead roles.

Bafflingly canceled after just one season, Ride or Die was popular with audiences and critics alike when it premiered earlier this year, topping Prime Video’s TV lists in multiple weeks. It’s a highly entertaining action comedy anchored by Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer’s performances and chemistry, with a wild, pulpy story and plenty of interesting characters. And though it’s been cut down to miniseries status, it’s still a very fun show to check out this week.
