Prime Video subscribers have to look no further, as the best movies to watch on the streaming service this weekend include an exciting original release and two films that are quickly moving up the charts. On last weekend's Prime Video movie recommendations, I talked about Ready Player One, Blade, and Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

Notably, no Prime Video Original movies were on the list. That changes for this weekend's recommendations, as the streaming service has come up with a new offering that unites two beloved stars with plenty of action and style. Additionally, animated movie fans and those interested in a dose of adventure should feel well-served on Prime Video.

3 The Wrecking Crew (2026)

I could not start the list with another movie that was not The Wrecking Crew. After all, the Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista R-rated action film is simply the most-watched movie on Prime Video worldwide at the time of writing. The same rings true for the United States chart, meaning that if you have not yet watched the movie, you are missing out.

Momoa and Bautista have impeccable comedic timing and have shown their action skills in several franchises, including the superhero universes from Marvel and DC, over the years. Of course, pairing them up for a high-octane action comedy would result in a fun movie with shockingly epic set pieces. As two estranged half-brothers investigate their father's death, insanity ensues.

2 The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)

After getting the adrenaline pumping with The Wrecking Crew, the next best movie to watch on Prime Video this weekend is the animated The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It is based on one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, with an all-star voice cast, a fun story, and absolutely gorgeous animation.

Its sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, will arrive in theaters on April 1st. As such, the time is perfect to get up to speed on Mario's adventure to find Luigi and defeat Bowser. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is currently the 4th most-watched movie on Prime Video in the United States. This one is fun for the whole family!

1 The Legend of Tarzan (2016)

After two brighter, explosive movies, the third recommendation on the list is more dramatic, but also action-packed. On February 13, Margot Robbie returns to the big screen with the new spicy romance movie Wuthering Heights, a book adaptation with some bite. To get ready to follow Robbie into theaters, Prime Video subscribers might want to watch an underrated film starring the actress.

The Legend of Tarzan has entered Prime Video's charts in the United States as the 3rd most-watched movie nationwide.

Robbie plays Jane Clayton, the wife of Alexander Skarsgård's Tarzan. The movie plays with the classic story, imagining Tarzan going back to the jungle after becoming used to life in London to deal with a dark threat. The Legend of Tarzan is creative, has good action scenes, and its cast is to die for. These Prime Video movies are worth watching.
