Simply mentioning that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the topic of today's discussion is likely enough to remind fans of GTA's most memorable quote. The legendary game is filled with phenomenally written characters, great one-liners, and memorable moments, an aspect of its design that has ultimately led it to become a beloved entry and one of gaming's greats. However, there is one particular line that stands out above all the rest, one that managed to break free of its original form and spread rapidly online, one that punctured the zeitgeist with force and remains iconic to this very day.

They are meaningful within the context of their respective games in a way that, at least on the surface, "follow the damn train" simply isn't.

However, while the line itself holds little significance in-game, a mere insult to the player for failing a mission, it is the shared trauma of being berated by Big Smoke and having to replay the mission that gives it an emotional weight that even the aforementioned lines lack. It also helps that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' legacy lives on to this very day.
