2025's Best Psychological Horror Game is Getting an Official Sequel

While Konami seems focused on releasing as many unique takes on Silent Hill as possible, we’ll be getting an unlikely sequel to last year’s entry in the series. A manga spinoff of Silent Hill f is scheduled to begin serialization in Weekly Famitsu at the end of 2026.

The manga's protagonist will be Kotoyuki, “the man with the fox mask,” who serves as Silent Hill f’s nominal villain (sort of). The story will be divided into two parts: the first will focus on Kotoyuki’s childhood and “how he became the man with the fox mask.” Manga artist Ayato will handle the series, while Silent Hill f writer Ryukishi07 and Konami will offer oversight. Ayato released a first key image of protagonist Kotoyuki, who has been fully bishonen-ified, as shown above. This will be Silent Hill f’s second manga. The first adapts the game’s story with a new ending written by Ryukishi07.

When did Silent Hill f come out?

Silent Hill f was released on Sept. 25, 2025, to positive reviews, with critics praising its storytelling, atmosphere, and setting. It sold over one million copies on launch day, making it the fastest-selling entry in the series. It was the first Silent Hill game that wasn’t a remake or remaster since 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour.

The story follows Hinako, a high school student in 1960s Japan, as a mysterious fog covers her town. Before long, she encounters grotesque creatures covered in blood-red spider lilies. Written by When They Cry author Ryukishi07, the storyinterrogates the misogyny and gender expectations of its time period, using layers of visual metaphor to represent a certain form of “death” (which I’ll avoid spoiling the specifics of). The game maintained the series’ iconic touchstones while distancing itself from the creatively bankrupt sequels that followed Team Silent’s first four Silent Hill games.

Silent Hill’s revival is in full swing, and there are several more projects on the way, including the imminent spin-off Silent Hill Townfall, which is out on Sept. 24, as well as a remake of the first game in the series from Bloober Team.
