From picking out the right outfit to represent yourself to making the best possible impression at each house, the sorority recruirtment process can be a stressful (but fun) experience!

So the last thing you want to be worrying about is constantly checking if your makeup is holding up well or not, right? And especially if you're rushing in a hot and humid environment, you don't want to melt away before you even make it through the doors!

E! spoke with celebrity makeup artist Allison Kaye for her best-kept secrets to lock in your glam for a full day of activities, and she has some tricks that even we hadn't thought of.

P.S. even if you aren't rushing this semester or aren't even in college anymore, we bet you could learn a thing or two from Allison about how to lock in your makeup for all-day wear, especially in warm weather!

Don't Skip Your Skincare Routine

Yes, even if your skin is oily – don't skip your skincare routine! Allison recommended avoiding anything overly complicated, and to instead "keep it simple" with a moisturizer.

"Even for the oily girls, make sure that you're still using moisturizer just because sometimes your skin is oily becasue you don't moisturize it," Allison said.

And even if you're in a humid or hot climate, the same goes – don't skip your moisturizer! Allison will be attending the Sephora @ Kohl's campus pop-up on Aug. 19 at the University of Florida, where it can definitely get humid, but Allison's tips can help you out.

iNNBEAUTY PROJECT Extreme Cream Firming & Barrier Repair Anti-Aging Refillable Moisturizer

Allison's current favorite moisturizer is this one from iNNBEAUTY, which provides a noticeable "glow," even under your makeup.

Primer is another pre-makeup step to add into your routine, and while sometimes on your average day skin prep is enough to create a smooth base, Allison likes to use a primer "when it's a super long day and there's going to be extreme heat" before foundation.

MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer

"The makeup kind of sticks to it beautifully," said Allison about this hyaluronic acid and niacinamide-based primer, that leaves behind a dewy glow.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez True to Myself Natural Matte Longwear Foundation

Available in a wide range of shades, Allison appreciates the lock on this longwearing foundation so it won't spill all over (which is especially helpful if you're bringing it with you to reapply).

How to Set Your Blush & Bronzer

Lock in your look by layering your blush and bronzer, starting with a cream and finishing with a powder on top.

PATRICK TA Major Headlines Double-Take Creme & Powder Blush Duo

The perfect blush duo is in one easy compact by Patrick Ta! Allison loves the soft pink shade "Shes That Girl" which is a "looks good on everybody type of blushes."

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Cream Bronzer

Another cream bronzer, this offers a bit of shimmer and long-lasting power to layer or wear alone.

How to Avoid Runny Mascara

Rush can be an emotional process, but it's also hot out and the last thing you want is for your mascara to be transferring onto your eye lids or running under your eyes before you even get into a house.

Her hack to prime your lashes (that's not actually a lash primer) is to set your eyelid area with a loose setting powder, allowing the powder to fall onto your lashes naturally, or gently applying with the puff or brush, before going in with your mascara of choice.

Editor's Pick

ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara

This is a favorite mascara of Allison's, and mine as well! It gives serious length to your lashes, and the applicator does a great job of ensuring that you won't be left looking clumpy.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumizing & Lengthening Waterproof Mascara

Prefer a waterproof formula? Allison recommends the waterproof version of Too Faced's popular Better Than Sex mascara.

Why You Need Different Setting Powders

Don't be afraid of pressed powders, Allison shared! Powders today aren't what they used to be, so you don't have to be scared of a "powdery" finish. "I think that different areas require different powders and require different colors because soemtimes you do want to match your skin and sometimes you do want it to have it be brighter." she explained.

Here are a few of her best practices and tips for using setting powders:

  • "If you're a beginner, then I would use a fluffier brush."
  • "The key for long-lasting lips is to put some setting powder over your lips before you go in with your lip liner and your lipstick and your lip gloss."
  • For under your eyes, go for a lighter shade to brighten the area, versus with your lips and face you can use a shade "a little bit closer to your skin tone."

HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Airbrush Matte Pressed Setting Powder

"Pressed powder is going to give you more payoff," explained Allison. This one by HUDA BEAUTY is offered in multiple shades, including a universal translucent, with medium coverage.

HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Blurring Loose Baking & Setting Powder

This light pink loose powder is perfect for under the eyes, and creates a "seamless blend" into your cheeks, especially if you're using a pink blush said Allison.

Allison's "bread and butter is long wear makeup," but her thoughts on setting sprays might shock you. "My go-to setting spray combo is the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray with the ONE/SIZE setting spray on top," she revealed.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Hydrating & Waterproof Setting Spray

Once you're done with your makeup, this is the first step Allison recommends for a hydrated glow that blends your look in and removes excess powder.

ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray

"For the longwearing aspect, we need this aerosol setting spray because it kind of acts more like a hairspray on your face," Allison explained. The end result is a gorgeous sheen over your full face that won't budge.

What to Bring for Rush Makeup Touchups

Even if you follow all of these steps exactly (A+ for you), you may still want to bring a few products for touchups on longer days.

  • "Number one thing is lip gloss, you'll be talking to all these different girls at all these different houses."
  • "I would say the next thing should be a pressed setting powder."
  • "A powder puff or some kind of brush to use with that, you can touch up."
  • "Bringing your foundation and a Beautyblender is never a bad idea."

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm

Allison is a "huge fan" of the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balms, in particular the Pink Sugar and Pink Guava shades, for hydration and color.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder

This soft-focus setting powder offers a beautifully blurred finish while minimizing shine. Even better? It's refillable!

beautyblender ORIGINAL Makeup Sponge

Keep your damp beautyblender in the case while you're out for the day for a quick touchup.
