When dry shampoo first entered the market a decade ago, my initial thought was something along the lines of, "WTF?!" I couldn't wrap my head around how I could possibly cleanse my hair with a few quick sprays and no suds or water. But as soon as I tried out some of the best products for myself, I immediately understood exactly why there's so much hype around the product. The stuff really works . . . if you use the right formula.

Since hopping on the bandwagon among other beauty-lovers, dry shampoo has managed to give my greasy hair a second life between washes, and now, I can't imagine my routine without it. It's the one product I can rely on to completely change my hair for the better, with only minutes to spare. Plus, you can even use dry shampoo to add volume and lift to your roots, so your hair won't fall flat. To date, I've tried a handful of brands, but I'm always game to switch things up and try new products, especially if they come recommended by my fellow editors.

These heaven-sent hair saviors range from affordable drugstore finds to slightly more expensive options, all promising to salvage your second-, third-, or even fourth-day hair in a pinch. Whether you're looking for the best dry shampoo for dark hair, the best dry shampoo for blond hair, or to try a totally different formula (cream dry shampoo, anyone?), we have you covered.

Ahead, shop the best dry shampoos you should consider adding to your beauty arsenal.

Editor Quotes: "While I had a superproductive day at the office, I hadn't squeezed out a workout in two days, and it was time to burn off some energy. I booked a class at Orangetheory Fitness on the way home from work and got a session in. My issue? I sweat like nobody's business. I always have. Midway through the class I was concerned I wasn't going to be able to go to the dinner reservation later that night with my current 'do . . . I went to dinner and avoided any sideways glances. In fact, one of my friends told me my hair looked particularly voluminous, which was a nice surprise." — Murphy Moroney, former associate family editor

"I picked up a bottle of the Colab Dry Shampoo during my last trip to London because I was too busy sightseeing to properly wash my hair and didn't bring any dry shampoo along with me. It's super light and doesn't leave any residue, so it's my new go-to all the time." — Hedy Phillips, former contributor
