As someone who loves to shop, gifting season is one of my favorite times of year. There are a slew of birthdays across my friends and family at the cusp of the season (including mine), so I always feel like I get a pre-game period before the holiday madness officially begins. I thoroughly enjoy celebrating others, as I believe what you gift someone reflects how you feel about them and what they mean to you. There's just a certain joy that comes with watching someone open a gift I got for them — you can call it one of my love languages.
At the same time, I have zero problem being on the receiving end, though I can be a bit difficult to shop for. Sure, I have specific qualities that do spark inspiration (like my love for all things '90s Black culture or my unnatural obsession with lip gloss), but I do appreciate items that show me someone's listening or paying attention to me, as well as things that would ultimately elevate who I am.
While I have a community around me that has similar lifestyles and interests, there are some things on my wish list that aren't super easy to guess, or that I don't already have, thanks to how generous my PR friends are. Case in point, I've been loving perfume mixing lately, and find myself using Yves Saint Laurent's Libre scent as my go-to base — no ifs, ands, or buts. I've also been rebranding my outerwear collection, and a Pelle Pelle leather bomber is certainly on my radar.
