KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! isn't just one of the funniest isekai series, it's one of the funniest series in anime of all time. Its light-hearted nature, incredible cast of characters, and top-tier writing make it stand out as a comedy series. Satou Kazuma is a normal NEET who spends his days in his room playing video games. When he dies in his past life, he's transported to the next, meeting the Goddess of Water Aqua in the process. She tells him he's allowed to take any one thing with him to his new world, and he hilariously chooses the Goddess herself.
It's a simple premise that gives the show plenty of room to explore hilarious situations. Aqua and Kazuma are funny enough, but with Megumin and Darkness in the mix, it doesn't get much better. The four make a comically cohesive group that somehow fails all of their objectives successfully, leading to ego-satiating highs, self-inflicted lows, and some of the funniest moments in KonoSuba.
10 Kazuma Dies Again
Eris is Very Disappointed
Satou Kazuma is no stranger to death. He died once just getting to his new world. When he dies now, however, he has a lot more on the line. Aqua can't return to her post as a Goddess until the Demon King is defeated, and Kazuma has to be the one to do it. Every time he dies, the rules have to be bent enough to bring him back. The new Goddess, Eris, is the one tasked with resurrecting Kazuma and she isn't exactly a fan.

25 Best Isekai Anime You Should Watch Right Now
Even with the oversaturation of the genre, there are still plenty of excellent isekai anime shows that every fan should consider streaming.
Kazuma's death to the Winter Shogun is a quick one, as he gets decapitated for not listening to Aqua and dropping his sword. When he appears in front of the Goddess of Luck Eris, he's sad, and the two have a heartfelt conversation before comedy ensues. Aqua wants Kazuma back quickly and threatens to take away Eris's breast pads if she doesn't allow him to. It's a ridiculous demand that perfectly highlights Aqua's character and KonoSuba as a show.
9 Darkness is Possessed
Vanir Really Doesn't Get It
Darkness is one of the main party members in KonoSuba and easily one of the funniest, albeit entirely on accident. Darkness is a masochist who will do nearly anything for sexual gratification. She's constantly throwing herself into harm's way to get off, and because of her insane durability, she's able to survive what would be lethal events without a scratch. When she meets the Arch Demon of Hell Vanir, she couldn't be more excited.
Vanir's mask ends up on Darkness's face, giving him a chance to possess her body. While he's possessing her, he makes her feel immense pain and she loves it. The demon is rightfully confused, and a little disgusted. While Darkness's attacks are completely ineffective at hurting her opponent, her perversion gets Vanir away quickly. It's a ridiculous moment that Kazuma has to sit through with a straight face, adding to the hilarity.
8 Megumin Wakes up Next to Kazuma
Kazuma Might Not Be as Innocent as He Seems
Kazuma's relationship with Megumin is almost always friendly, but it's drifted into relationship territory a few times. They were close to romance when Megumin woke up next to Kazuma. While she was initially shocked, his smooth talking lowered her guard and even got her to appreciate her fellow party member. Kazuma explained that he was only in the same bed with her because they were frozen in. Megumin initially agreed it wasn't a bad idea, until she looked at the window and realized they were frozen in from the inside.
Kazuma's bold-faced lying is hilarious given that Megumin could have just looked at the window at any second. Not only was he brazen enough to freeze a window from the inside, but he had the audacity to think Megumin wouldn't even check it. Her angry reaction is hilarious and completely warranted, as Kazuma acts like he did nothing wrong.
7 Kazuma vs. Mitsurugi 2
Mitsurugi Just Can't Win
Mitsurugi is another Japanese person who got reincarnated into the world of KonoSuba. Unlike Kazuma, when Mitsurugi was being transported, he took his new role seriously. He's one of the strongest characters in KonoSuba because of his cursed sword and his class of Swordmaster. Unfortunately for Mitsurugi, he can't seem to win against Kazuma. When Mitsurugi is defending Iris from the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade, he loses yet again to Kazuma.

10 Best Fantasy Isekai
The best fantasy isekai bring new stories and ideas to a beloved and sometimes cliché genre.
Kazuma defeats Mitsurugi by first tricking him, then making him slip on ice, then blasting waves of water in his face. It's a hilarious and disrespectful defeat that fits their dynamic perfectly. Mitsurugi is supposed to be a shining knight, but when Kazuma's around, he's a punchline. Mitsurugi's preparation for the fight makes it even funnier, as he was completely outclassed in a totally underhanded way.
6 Alligator Attack
Aqua Had a Tough Day
Aqua is an Arch Priest and has unique abilities related to healing and cleansing. It's her job to clean up a lake the group is tasked with overseeing, but she needs to be in the lake to clean it. The problem comes in the form of alligators prowling the waters, but Kazuma is "smart" enough to put Aqua in an alligator-proof cage to protect her. It's an idea so ridiculous it's even funny on paper. Aqua is forced to sit half submerged in the water, constantly being attacked by alligators, chanting "Purification" the entire time.

10 Smartest Isekai Anime Heroes Of All Time, Ranked
While oversaturated, the isekai genre excels when it introduces protagonists that don't just have game smarts, but boast unique knowledge.
It's a great moment in the show because of how simple it is. Aqua cares about money more than most things, and she's so greedy that she's willing to sit in an alligator cage to get some. She completes the quest, but not without leaving completely traumatized.
5 Darkness' Reputation Ruined
Kazuma's New Ability Came in Too Handy
Darkness is a masochist and it's not exactly a secret. Most people know of her perversions, so when Kazuma breaks into her room and imitates her, the guards waiting outside the door can't get enough. Kazuma sneaks his way into Darkness's room and uses one of his Thief skills to perfectly mimic her voice. The guards outside hear a commotion so they want to come in, but Kazuma, in Darkness's voice, comes up with some hilariously dirty lies.
Kazuma convinces the guards that the noise came from Darkness's perverted acts and that they aren't allowed to come inside. He goes into extreme detail, getting great reactions out of the guards. Some of the guards are horrified, others are delighted. It's a funny moment because of how absurd it is and how well Kazuma is able to act.
4 Darkness is Cursed
The Dullahan Is Concerned
It's never a good sign when the enemy is weirded out. The Dullahan is one of the Devil King's Generals and one of his strongest forces. When he comes to town, he threatens to bring his army with him, casting a terrible curse on Kazuma. Darkness intercepts it, much to the Dullahan's surprise and her own delight. Darkness then makes up a masochistic tale about how the Dullahan now needs her to follow him, and he couldn't have been more uncomfortable.
The Dullahan's reaction to Darkness's speech is great. He starts the scene as a vibrant, threatening enemy before turning into a frightened, creeped-out victim. Instead of leaving town in victory, the Dullahan runs away in shame. It's an odd moment for everyone but Darkness who's only left a little disappointed that she didn't end up with the Dullahan.
3 Slow Pauses to Added Effect
A Budget-Friendly Way of Stretching the Joke
Some of the funniest jokes don't need a big punchline to get a laugh, and KonoSuba proved it when Kazuma and Aqua become the most unbearable people ever. The pair recently came into some money, so they decide to head into town and enjoy a nice meal. The food is so good, they call the chef over to compliment his cooking. They keep assuming that the food and wine must be high-quality, and when the chef assures them that it isn't, they pause for way too long in their response.
It's a hilarious gag that takes a page out of Gintama's book. The chef has to let them down multiple times, but the pair doesn't give up. The hilarity doesn't stop with the pausing, as Kazuma generously tells the chef to keep the change for a tip once he pays. The chef quickly responds that it's exact change.
2 Pondering the Orb
Megumin's and Yunyun's Secrets Revealed
Yunyun just wants to be friends with her fellow Crimson Demon Megumin. The pair meet in Wiz's magic shop and find a crystal that's said to make them become friends. They use the crystal ball only to find out it makes them friends by revealing their most embarrassing memories. Yunyun's are of her constantly being alone, making up friends and playing games by herself. Megumin's show her scavenging and hunting for food for herself and her little sister.
The two juxtaposing embarrassing moments make each other funnier. Yunyun's is just plain sad, while Megumin's is weird and not understandable. Aqua, Wiz, and Kazuma's reactions are perfect, as they're all stunned by how odd everything is that they're seeing. In a moment of desperation, Yunyun hilariously asks if this moment will make her friends with Megumin. Megumin answers by smashing the ball.
1 Darkness's Ideal Man
One of the Best Speeches in Anime
Darkness looks at the world in a much... different way than the rest of her friends. While they all may want a kind partner that respects them, Darkness's ideal man is someone a little different. When Kazuma and the gang are trying to help her stop her marriage to Alderp, she tells them exactly who she'd rather marry. Darkness's description of her ideal man is insane in the funniest way possible. She so confidently describes the worst type of man that Kazuma and Aqua's jaws hit the floor.
In a speech akin to Erwin's before the Survey Corps faced death, Darkness talks about a loser who treats her even worse than he treats himself. It's the funniest moment in the series because of how in line it is with Darkness's character and just how well-written the speech is. It's straight-forward, absurd, and most of all, downright hilarious.
