Spoiler Alert: This list contains spoilers for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4.The court is now in session. Season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer delivers another round of cases. However, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) isn't behind the wheel of his beloved Lincoln or arguing on a client's behalf. Instead, he finds himself behind bars, framed for the murder of former client Sam Scales (Christopher Thornton), whose body is discovered in the trunk of Mickey's car.

With his career and freedom at risk, Mickey races to find out who is truly responsible. As each clue leads to another, he realizes the case is only the surface of a nationwide conspiracy involving the FBI, natural resources, and a deadly mob. With all episodes now on streaming and Season 5 officially confirmed, here are my burning questions following The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 finale.

1 Will Dana Berg Get Revenge on Mickey Haller?

The Lincoln Lawyer often brings characters from past seasons back, proving that a case doesn't always end when the judge says so. One of Mickey's greatest challenges in Season 4 is Dana Berg (Constance Zimmer), a hard-hitting prosecutor determined to prove Mickey is a murderer. Nicknamed "Death Row Dana," she is believed to have a bitter history with Mickey.

Although Dana insists her pursuit isn't personal, she repeatedly dismisses evidence that could prove Mickey's innocence. When the FBI forces her to drop the case, she is furious. Adding salt to the wound, Dana must also be the one to publicly announce Mickey's exoneration to the public. Storming out of the council chamber, Dana might get back at Mickey when they cross paths in the future.

2 Will Mickey Haller Step Back from His Firm?

During Mickey's time in jail, his second wife and trusted office manager, Lorna Crane (Becki Newton), is forced to run Haller & Associates on her own. Fresh off pursuing a law degree to become a defense attorney, Lorna struggles with intense imposter syndrome. But with practice and some advice from David "Legal" Spiegel (Elliott Gould), she manages to keep the firm afloat.

When Lorna realizes the firm is losing clients due to Mickey's tainted reputation, she rebrands the practice around herself. As clients begin trusting Lorna over Mickey, she promotes herself, even putting up a massive billboard featuring her face. Mickey doesn't object. In fact, stepping out of the spotlight may be exactly what he needs after months of public scrutiny.

3 Who Is Mickey Haller's Sister?

After the trial, Mickey attempts to settle back into a quieter life, but he can't shake the feeling that he's being watched. That paranoia is confirmed during a trip to the supermarket, where he notices a woman (Cobie Smulders) repeatedly staring at him. She follows him to the parking lot and asks if he is Mickey Haller.

Before he can respond properly, she spots a threat and instinctively forces Mickey to the ground, shielding him from gunfire. Once the danger passes, the woman reveals herself to be Mickey's sister. However, her tactical response raises more questions, suggesting she has far more experience dealing with crime than Mickey ever expected.

4 Will Mickey Haller and Maggie McPherson Get Back Together?

Neve Campbell in The Lincoln Lawyer Image via Netflix

Mickey and Maggie McPherson (Neve Campbell) are the ex-couple fans root for in The Lincoln Lawyer. In the first two seasons, the divorcees had their co-parenting clashes and a career clash, which gives no reason for the two to reunite on good terms. However, with Mickey at his most vulnerable in Season 4, Maggie does everything she can to keep her former husband grounded.

The biggest plot twist in Season 4 occurs when Maggie risks her career by stepping in as Mickey's lawyer, allowing Lorna to save the firm from collapse. Although Maggie is dating someone else at this point, she returns to San Diego feeling conflicted after Mickey's case concludes, suggesting she may still care deeply for him.

5 Will Mickey Haller's Family Be in Danger?

The Season 4 finale makes it clear that the Armenian mob has no hesitation about attacking Mickey in public. That violence is just the tip of the iceberg. The mob has relentlessly targeted Mickey, especially after Alex Gazarian's (Michael A. Goorjian) recklessness nearly exposed their operation. Now, with Alex out of the picture following his brutal fall, the organization appears ready to take direct control.

If the mob is as ruthless as its reputation suggests, it may strike Mickey where it hurts the most: his family. With his ex-wife living in San Diego and his daughter preparing to leave for college, distance limits Mickey's ability to protect them. The mob could exploit that separation.

6 How Will the FBI Protect Mickey Haller?

Mickey's case in Season 4 draws attention not only from the public but also from high-ranking officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. After tracing a lead involving Sam and a nationwide biofuel scam, Mickey is confronted in his home by FBI agents Felix Vasquez (Hemky Madera) and Dawn Ruth (Sasha Alexander).

Mickey's relationship with the FBI hasn't always been the greatest. The FBI pressures Mickey to drop the investigation, which makes him believe that it has something to do with his past fallout with Vasquez. Ultimately, he learns the bureau is protective of a larger but discreet case. When Mickey is almost killed by the Armenian mob, the FBI intervenes, proving their pursuit of justice is genuine despite their questionable methods.

7 How Much of Season 5 Will Be Based on 'Resurrection Walk'?

Each season of The Lincoln Lawyer adapts a novel from Connelly's series, and the upcoming Season 5 is no exception. Based on the seventh book, Resurrection Walk, the story follows a newly reenergized Mickey, fueled by the adrenaline of freeing a wrongfully convicted client. Inspired by the idea of the "resurrection walk," Mickey becomes inundated with letters from inmates claiming innocence.

A key element of the novel is Mickey turning to his half-brother, retired LAPD detective Harry Bosch, to help review the cases. Their focus centers on Lucinda Sanz, convicted after pleading no contest to killing her ex-husband, a sheriff's deputy. However, due to rights issues, Bosch will not appear in the series, explaining why Mickey's estranged sister fills that role instead.

8 Will Izzy and Grace Stay Together as a Couple?

Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole) may be thriving in her career, but her luck in love hasn't always followed. In Season 2, Izzy reconnects with her ex-girlfriend Ray (Shelby Lee Parks). However, when Ray's plans to raise money for a dance studio threaten to pull them into trouble, Izzy decides to end the relationship.

In Season 4, Izzy is bogged down with Mickey's case and keeping the firm afloat. She's also attending paralegal classes, where she meets fellow student Grace (Gigi Zumbado). What begins as a casual hangout at an arcade bar turns into a sweet sunrise moment and a kiss. Things are pretty chill right now, but after unexpectedly working together on Mickey's case, their relationship might get serious.

9 Will Mickey Haller Move Out of His House?

After Mickey finally retrieves his beloved Lincoln Continental from an impound, he receives a call from Izzy checking in on him. Newly exonerated, Mickey has no plans to return to the firm anytime soon, and it's clear he's making several intentional changes following his time in prison.

Instead of diving back into work, he's reliving his old days by driving around town in his Lincoln and planning to cook home-cooked meals. The biggest potential change, however, is that he may put his house on the market, much to Izzy's surprise. His Baldwin Hlils home may be enviable, but after rattlesnakes and FBI confrontations, Mickey is ready for a fresh start elsewhere.

10 Where Will Hayley Haller Move to for College?

In the season finale, Hayley (Krista Warner) reveals that she will attend college the following year, though she never specifies which university. One clue is that Hayley's departure gives her mother the time and space to prioritize herself, including deciding whether she wants to reunite with Mickey. This suggests Hayley may be leaving for somewhere far away.

In the book, Hayley is revealed to have attended Chapman College in Orange, California. Later, she pursued a law degree at the University of Southern California. She initially aspired to become a prosecutor, but after her father was framed for Sam's murder, Hayley chose a career as a criminal defense attorney. She would change to environmental law sometime in the future.
