Superman & Lois ended the era of DC shows on The CW, and its final season once again delivered plenty of exciting moments, adding to the long list of major events seen in the Superman series. Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Tal-Rho, and more villains pushed the Man of Steel to his limit over Superman & Lois' four seasons. That all culminated in Clark Kent becoming human and dying in the Superman & Lois series finale.

While shocking, it was a poignant and fitting ending to this version of the Man of Steel. It also gave Tyler Hoechlin's Superman an original arc, separating him from other live-action Superman actors. Before dying, Superman had many impressive adventures in one of the best live-action DC shows. Superman & Lois' best moments include a wide variety of characters and situations. However, Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel happens to be at the center of several of them, showing just how well he was handled.

10 Clark Kent Slams Emmitt Pergande On The Counter

Season 3, Episode 4

Clark Kent threatens Emitt Pergande in Superman & Lois

Emmitt Pergande did not appear much in Superman & Lois, but when the character was onscreen, he led to two major moments in the series' history. The first came when Tyler Hoechlin's Superman learned of what Pergande had done.

Clark could not let Candice's dad get away with giving Jonathan a black eye and pulling a gun on Lois. And so, instead of going as Superman, Hoechlin's character confronted Pergande as Clark in Smallville's diner. In front of everyone, Clark made quick work of the character.

The ordeal made Clark more respected by Kyle and others, showing Clark Kent can solve matters just like Superman.

Clark intimidating Pergande and slamming his head on the counter was amazing. It showed that while Clark is normally a goofy person with a bubbly personality, he does not joke around when it comes to defending his family. The ordeal made Clark more respected by Kyle and others, showing Clark Kent can solve matters just like Superman.

9 Superman Saves The Green Car

Season 1, Episode 1

Superman saving green car in Superman & Lois

Superman & Lois' very first episode had so many exciting scenes that it is hard to count. However, one of its events was more iconic than the rest, even if it was brief. The moment in question comes from Superman saving a car in an homage to the comics.

In the DC series' pilot episode, Tyler Hoechlin's Superman dons a costume inspired by the Fleischer Superman cartoons. The moment is not only great because of his vibrant suit, but also because Superman & Lois recreates Action Comics #1's cover, which marked Superman's debut.

The moment is simply perfect. Superman with a beloved suit, saving a green car, just like the comic book cover. The character also has a heartwarming conversation with a kid, saying his mom made the costume for him. It was pure Superman, a hopeful take needed amid the DCEU's darker version of Superman.

8 Superman Goes Into The Sun And Supercharges His Powers

Season 2, Episode 15

Superman Lois Power Up Finale Sun

Superman gets his powers because of how the yellow sun affects his Kryptonian physiology. It has become normal for the character to go into the sun in comics when he needs a good recharge. Superman & Lois also decided to go there, and it led to a major moment.

While Ally Allston was perhaps the show's least beloved main villain, the end to her arc was handled well. Tal-Rho cements himself as an ally by flying Superman, his half-brother, to the sun. Clark flying into the mighty star and absorbing its rays made for an epic moment with cool visuals.

Superman & Lois season 4's finale would also see the Man of Steel recharge his powers near the sun.

After that, Superman flew to take down Ally. His powers were supercharged by the sun, which allowed Clark to separate the two versions of Ally. With a major energy discharge, Superman is able to separate his Earth and the Inverse World, becoming one of his biggest displays of power.

7 Jonathan Kent Discovers He Has Powers

Season 4, Episode 3

Jonathan Kent looks surprised in Superman & Lois

Jordan Kent developed powers in Superman & Lois' first episode. However, his brother, Jonathan, would spend most of the series powerless. Due to that, Jonathan had to find other ways to help, be it assisting Steel or joining the Fire Department.

When Superman & Lois season 4 was announced to be the show's last, it seemed like Jonathan was never going to get his powers. Thankfully, the team behind the DC series had a card up its sleeve. Jonathan's powers emerged after an emotional discussion with Jordan.

Interestingly, Michael Bishop's character had all of his powers come in at the same time, while Clark and Jordan slowly developed them. Jonathan was also a natural, mastering flying and the rest of his powers in no time. Jonathan Kent getting powers and helping save the world was a fitting conclusion to his arc.

6 Lex Luthor Transforms Bizarro Into Doomsday

Season 3, Episode 13

Lex Luthor torturing Bizarro on Superman & Lois

Michael Cudlitz's Lex Luthor is Superman & Lois' biggest villain. The character was not only a force to be reckoned with in the DC series, but he also created the second-biggest villain in Superman & Lois. It all started with Bizarro in season 3.

Lex debuted during a two-episode arc to end season 3. In the finale, he discovered that every time he killed Bizarro, the Inverse Superman came back stronger. Not only that, but Bizarro physically evolved until he became another being. This was an interesting way to merge two Superman villains into one.

Lex's sadism was put on display as he repeatedly murdered Bizarro until he turned into Doomsday. The sequence is sad, curious, and a fantastic showcase of the kind of ruthless man Lex Luthor is. Doomsday's birth could not have been more traumatic.

5 Superman & Lex Luthor Get Into A Fistfight

Season 4, Episode 6

Superman & Lois season 4 brought along many firsts for the DC series. This was a fine way to go about ending the show, and Lex Luthor played a major role as the final villain. Throughout the season, Cudlitz's character and the Man of Steel repeatedly faced off.

While that happened with words on many occasions, as Clark thought he could reason with Lex, they also traded blows. One of Superman & Lois' best moments is a fight scene that sees Superman stand aside for Clark Kent to shine. After Lana Lang almost dies, Clark confronts Lex.

Thanks to Milton's red sun-powered streetlights, Clark is rendered powerless. That initiates a fair fistfight between him and Lex. The rain, red lights, and rage inside both characters as they try to make the other bleed build an epic moment. Clark winning is the perfect outcome.

4 Doomsday Kills Superman

Season 4, Episode 1

The Superman & Lois season 3 finale made it clear that the DC series' final season would be adapting "The Death of Superman." While that was no surprise, the most emotional moment of that arc hit just as hard as it did in the comics.

Near the end of season 4's first episode, the battle between Superman and Doomsday comes to an end. Clark gave it his all to beat the villain, but it was simply not enough. After Doomsday kept coming back to life and evolving whenever Superman killed him, the beast murdered the Man of Steel.

Things go up a notch due to how Superman dies. Doomsday rips the hero's heart out of his chest and presents it to Luthor, with the Kents crying as they hold Clark, who has a hole in his chest. The moment was wildly dark, presenting the high stakes of the final season.

3 Superman Reveals His Secret Identity To The World

Season 4, Episode 7

As it was the show's final season, Superman & Lois season 4 featured many shocking moments. Some of them even included changing the hero's status quo forever. As is common in Superman stories, the Man of Steel's secret identity was a major topic throughout the series.

Jordan and Jonathan did not want to hide their powers and lie to everyone like their dad had to. While Clark was mostly against revealing their secret to everyone, after Emmitt Pergande forced him to suit up as Superman in the diner to keep everyone safe, Clark changed his mind.

One of Superman's best moments comes when Superman reveals to the world that he is Clark Kent. It changed the lives of the Kents forever, but the Daily Planet interview allowed Clark to finally free himself of that burden. Clark then reconciles with Jimmy Olsen after his secret kept them apart, which was wholesome.

2 Superman Finally Defeats Lex Luthor

Season 4, Episode 10

Superman punches Lex Luthor's suit and it explodes in Superman & Lois

Michael Cudlitz's Lex Luthor is the final villain of Superman & Lois. It was fitting, given how Lex is Superman's nemesis in every medium and how the show revealed Lois and Superman imprisoned him for 17 years for a crime he did not commit.

Lex dealt severe blows to the Kents throughout the season, and after stealing John Henry Irons' Steel suit, he literally traded blows with Superman. The series finale featured the final battle between Superman and Luthor. The villain tries to use Kryptonite nails to take down Superman.

The Superman & Lois series finale was packed with major reveals and fitting endings for the show's characters, but some were quite shocking.

However, after having recharged his powers near the sun, the Man of Steel dispatches Luthor relatively easily. The shot of Clark punching Luthor and his suit breaking apart is iconic. The best part of the whole thing comes seconds after the fight, as Superman saves Luthor from falling to his death, safely landing with him on the ground, showing why Superman is a true hero.

1 Clark Kent Reunites With Lois Lane In Afterlife Sequence

Season 4, Episode 10

Finally, the best moment in Superman & Lois happens to be its very last one. The DC series had quite an emotional finale, which included Lois Lane and Clark Kent dying in the future. The two of them died years apart, which meant Clark had to go on without Lois for some time.

The flash-forward sequence in the Superman & Lois finale offered some exciting moments, as well as heartbreaking ones. Thankfully, Lois Lane and Clark Kent were reunited before the show came to a close. After he dies, Clark and Lois meet again in the afterlife.

Superman and Lois Poster Showing Clark and Lois Back to Back and their sons

Superman & Lois, the seventh Arrowverse spinoff series, will take the titular characters from Metropolis to Smallville. The CW series is set in the aftermath of the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover, which saw the multiverse collapse and the merging of worlds into what is now Earth Prime. Superman & Lois sees Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) dealing with all the pressures of their jobs, along with being parents to two teenage sons. Lois and Clark are no strangers to the Arrowverse, with Hoechlin's Superman having been introduced all the way back in Supergirl season 2. Meanwhile, Tulloch's Lois made her debut in the 2018 "Elseworlds" crossover. The duo is joined by a growing cast of characters that includes a new iteration of Lana Lang.
