10 Best Custom Designs To Import Into Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete

2 weeks ago 11

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete surprised everyone when it was released in December 2024 by allowing custom designs to be imported from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The app was previously free-to-play before changing into a one-time paid model when the old version shut down. Until then, custom designs were exclusively an Animal Crossing: New Horizons feature that needed a paid Nintendo account to share or download.

With the arrival of the new custom design import feature in Pocket Camp, players can now import their favorite designs from New Horizons, without needing a paid Nintendo subscription. Fans with a copy of ACNH and a Switch online sub can make their own custom designs in New Horizon and import them into the mobile title. There's also the option to import any of the many custom designs that already exist.

The customization feature is very limited in Pocket Camp Complete, however, capping players off at just 20 clothing items and 20 non-clothing items like flooring and ground tiles, etc. As a result, players might want to be strategic when choosing which custom designs to import into Pocket Camp. Luckily, there are many excellent designs to choose from.

10 Ground Tiles And Stepping Stones

Forge Your Own Path Through The Campsite

As exciting as it is to import custom designs into Pocket Camp, players quickly realized that the feature is limited when it comes to flooring. The app only lets players import custom designs that were specifically labeled as a "ground" design. Luckily, winty_bear on X (formerly Twitter) has helpfully compiled a growing list of working ground designs with over 200 functioning codes at the time of this writing, and counting.

You can check out any of the creators featured in this post via the in-game Design Portal. IDs for each design and creator can be found directly on the images. All designs were checked and confirmed to work prior to this article's publication.

Even with the limitations of the importing system, there are many different types of paths and flooring to choose from. There are patches of grass, fallen leaves, clovers, rivers and brooks, dirt and paved paths, stepping stones, cute patterns, and so much more. There is even a cool steampunk floor that looks like cogs sticking out of the floor. With all these designs at the players' fingertips, it's possible to turn the campsite into nearly anything.

9 Themed Outfits For Villagers

Match Each Character's Personality To The Kind Of Outfit They'd Wear

Villagers fall under eight categories based on their personalities, like lazy, jock, peppy, snooty, and so on. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete adds another element to villager styles in the form of essences, which range from elegant and cute to civic and historical. This combination of characteristics makes each villager unique, and their styles should reflect this, too.

It would seem odd, for instance, to have a sporty jock who calls the player "brosephina" wearing a pink frilly dress (although they certainly can!). On top of their personal style, it's also worth noting that villagers don't wear full outfits like the player does, instead reducing the clothing item to just a short-sleeved shirt in most cases. Importing themed clothing intended specifically for certain types of villagers is a fun way to ensure that the outfits they wear suit them.

8 Patterns For Scarves

Sheep Villagers Need Style, Too

One of the animals that you can dress up in AC: Pocket Camp Complete is the sheep, but they don't wear clothes in the same way that other villagers in the game do. Sheep are already essentially wearing their own wooly sweaters, so custom designs are applied to the scarf, instead.

Some designs look strange on the scarf since they get repeated like a pattern. As a result, players who love sheep characters (or one fluffy friend in particular) may want to seek out a good pattern when applied to the scarf. The best designs for sheep villager scarves are simple patterns and sweaters, which both get some very stylish results.

7 Camp Uniforms

Some players may have fond memories from their childhoods of roaming around the city or the woods on a field trip. On those occasions, all the kids would wear matching outfits to make them easy to spot as part of the group. It can be cute to recreate the idea of camp uniforms in AC: Pocket Camp Complete and players can do just that with custom designs.

The nice thing about custom designs is that they can be shared and worn by as many villagers as players want. This opens up some opportunities for uniforms, from literal school or camp uniforms to cute matching outfits. The best custom designs that work for this have similar characteristics with a few tweaks here and there, like some details or the color. Putting all the visiting villagers into matching uniforms is a cute way to utilize the wide-reaching nature of custom designs.

6 Seasonal Outfits

Find The Perfect Fit For Any Time Of Year

As with all previous Animal Crossing titles, the seasons play an important part in Pocket Camp Complete. As always, certain animals and critters can only be caught in certain seasons. The game will also continue to have seasonal events, like its in-game versions of Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, and so on.

The campsite will change based on the season, as well, with snow covering the ground in the winter and blossoming trees and flowers in the Spring. As the seasons change, it's fun to dress up according to what's happening around players in the game. Fortune Cookies further reinforce the trend of seasonal designs, so it makes sense to use custom designs to celebrate in seasonal style, too. Players can find many different season-specific custom designs, from cozy fall cardigans to summery beach outfits.

5 Cosplay And Cosplay-Bounding

Dress Up As Your Favorite Character From Another Franchise

The beauty of creating outfit designs in Animal Crossing is that it allows players to be anyone that they want to be. This includes characters from other franchises, shows, and games, with some creative thinking. The art of Disney-bounding is alive and well in Animal Crossing and applicable to any franchise, show, book, or any other fandom. This is where fans dress up in the style of their favorite characters instead of cosplaying them completely and recreating their outfits.

The result is outfits inspired by beloved franchises, which is the perfect style to use for fandom celebrations in Pocket Camp. This is also a great option for anyone who missed out on the Sanrio collab, or players can just dress up as their favorite character from nearly any franchise they want. If it exists, there's probably someone who's made a custom design for it in ANCH. There are outfits for popular anime like Sailor Moon and Pokémon, famous books like the Harry Potter series, and everything in between. And if it doesn't exist yet, players can always create their own dream fan-design and import it into AC: PCC.

4 Handheld Items

Flags And Fans Add Adorable Customized Touches

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete has several handheld accessories like bags, drinks, ice cream cones, plushies, flowers, and more. Unfortunately, none of these items can be customized with custom designs. The two handheld items that can be designed, though, are flags and Uchiwa fans.

Some Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nook Miles achievements are easy to net, but some take a lot of time, patience, and plain old luck.

Uchiwa fans are handheld round Japanese fans traditionally made of silk. They're known for driving off mosquitoes, cooling people down, and possibly even warding off bad spirits. There are plenty of stunning traditional fan designs out there, but some creators have fun with it, like turning the fans into giant lollipops.

Flags can also be brought over from New Horizons and there are lots of beautiful custom designs for them out there. Unfortunately, neither flags nor Uchiwa fans can be placed anywhere, and must be held in order to display them. On the bright side, villagers can also hold fans, so it's possible to have campers walking around adorably waving their flags about.

3 Face Paint

Add A Touch Of Whimsy with Face Paint

In the official announcement that the custom design feature was coming to Pocket Camp Complete, Nintendo showed (via the Nintendo Mobile YouTube channel) shirts, dresses, hats, cutout standees, and lots of other types of designs. One type of design that isn't advertised as openly is face paint, but it's definitely an option for players to import into the mobile game.

In order to import designs that can be placed on character faces, the design needs to be a "facepaint" one, which looks like the silhouette of a mannequin's head. There are some very cute designs available to snag, including cheeks, face adornments like chains and sparkles, and even new bang types. Face paint custom designs are a way to turn the Animal Crossing character into a truly unique avatar.

2 Creative Standee Designs

Face-Cutouts Can Be Fun And Functional

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete doesn't allow players to import flat design artwork, so it's not possible to bring in a painting, sign, or any other general-purpose design. Luckily, the game does allow the import of the face cutout standee, and this turns out to be the next best thing. The standee is intended to be used as a cute photo-op prop, letting players stand behind the board with their face peeking out through the hole.

There are many designs that take the idea of the standee in a unique direction, and some designers have gotten very creative with how these surprisingly versatile items can be used. Standees are often used to add outdoor elements to Animal Crossing, which is perfect for Pocket Camp. There are custom designs for standing photo boards that emulate lemonade stands, outdoor cafés, caravans, and many more cute outdoor ideas.

1 Recreations Of Pocket Camp Outfits

Remake Your Dream Outfit Until You Find It In Game

Most of the outfits and designs from Pocket Camp have been brought over into Pocket Camp Complete. That doesn't mean that getting the dream outfit is an easy feat, since the Fortune Cookie system still leaves a lot up to luck. Players who are chasing a dream outfit in Pocket Camp can import designs of their favorite outfits until they manage to actually get them in the game.

Several designers out there specialize in recreating Pocket Camp clothes in New Horizons. Although it may seem backward, importing these designs is a roundabout way of getting a hold of them ASAP. Another bonus to importing beloved outfit designs through New Horizons is that players will only need one copy of the design to distribute it among any villagers they desire.

If the item were being worn normally, players would have to accumulate as many copies of the outfit as there are villagers to wear them. Luckily, custom designs in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete make it possible to import and wear many different outfits, styles, and designs for more freedom of expression than ever before.
