Despite being a primarily story-focused game, 007 First Light still has a few ways to offer more replayability for its unique locales, with the post-game TacSim mode being one of the best ways to test your limits and unlock some fancy new toys. Thankfully, you don't need to complete all of First Light's story to access the first simulation, as the Advanced Tactical Training Escalation is available right after returning from Bond's nightclub training mission.

While the first Advanced Tactical Training Escalation is rather straightforward to complete compared to the later ones in the game, there are still a few challenges that can be a bit annoying when trying to gather all the different challenges and bonus rewards available.

How To Complete The Advanced Tactical Training Escalation

After unlocking the tactical simulation mode, the very first tier of the Advanced Tactical Training Escalation is by far the easiest in the game, as all you have to do is follow the button prompts provided to learn some of First Light's most basic combat mechanics, which, after the first attempt or two, will easily earn you a sub-1-minute Fast Learner challenge.

The next tier goes over the same mechanics that you had to quickly learn already, but with actual enemies that fire back in an open area, requiring you to put a bit more thought into the actions than before to complete and help learn the following moves:

  • Vault Tackle
  • Charge an enemy x2
  • Double Leg Shot x2
  • Focus Headshot x2
  • Shot Disarm x2

The final challenge requires you to face off against 13 enemies in the Iceland compound with no additional objectives or hoops that you need to jump through, unlike the previous stages. It is important to note that if you decide to go completely loud for this one, 6 reinforcement enemies will be called in, which includes one with a high-powered sniper rifle that can pose a bit of a challenge on harder difficulties.

How To Complete Every Advanced Tactical Training Challenge

One of the most confusing parts of First Light's tactical simulation challenges is that the game doesn't differentiate between global and mission-specific challenges, as despite listing a total of 22, only 11 of them are exclusive to the Advanced Tactical Training Escalation, four of which are already unlocked just for beating all three tiers themselves.

Tier 2 has 2 challenges that can both be completed in a single run, as by completing the initial melee challenges on the first two enemies and finishing them off with headshots in focus mode, you can complete the rest of the melee challenges before finishing off the next duo of guards just up ahead with two shots each to the legs, which also need to be in focus mode for the Slow Learner Challenge.

Lastly, in Tier 3, the easiest way to knock out these challenges is with one run where you've disabled all your gadgets and only go for melee kills, starting by throwing an enemy off the ledge just ahead and to the right of the starting area.

While stealth is fairly difficult to maintain in this section, the building in the middle of the map has a ladder that you can use to easily take down enemies one at a time while staying out of fire, which also lets you grab the 3 takedowns needed for the Dropping In universal challenge, which you can find alongside the rest of them below:

Although several of these universal challenges will be impossible to complete if you choose to play First Light's tactical simulation mode right after unlocking it, you can still knock out a few challenges fairly easily on the Advanced Tactical Training Escalation. The easiest ones for this map are definitely Pistol Specialist, Mix It Up, and All In, although some challenges, like Shotgun Specialist, won't be possible due to the limited number of weapons and ammo available on the map.

While it's somewhat annoying to have to wait and revisit the Tactical Simulation Escalations if you want to complete all the available challenges, there's still plenty of replayability to be had through the post-game mode, which helps alleviate 007 First Light's relatively short runtime.
